There is no parking here at all, you must walk. We had dinner and then took a short walk down to this trail. So nice to wander through and view some unspoiled nature different than a typical inland nature trail. Comes out to a little beach, which was beautiful at sunset.
Tip: Can be muddy after some rain - wear appropriate shoes.

Springer's point is one of the many things that makes Ocracoke so very special. We love riding our bikes to take this lovely walk to the beach, watch the crabs crawl around the rocks in the crab sanctuary and float around with no ocean waves to worry about. Just lovely.

Nice place to swim on the sound side but there is no place to park. Can only get there by bike or by walking.

My cousin's family brought us here on our first day on the island. An easy walk that leads to a small beach area. The best part was catching and releasing these hermit type crabs. The baby fish and sea weeds provide ample diversion for small children. No major waves, so exploring in the water was easy. Also there was a nice view of the light house in the distance. The bike racks fill up fast and there was no place I saw to park a car. Bring your towel and just enjoy the ocean views.

Pros: Easy walk, both foliage and ocean views, good length, some vegetation had information plaques, sandy beach area

Cons: No mention of Blackbeard, no parking

After reading about Blackbeard I had to visit the site where we was thought to be be-headed. Off the waters of this park is their best guess of this happening. We were disappointed that there was no parking lot on site. Lucky for us, we stopped at the visitors center in town and found out that we should park at the church around the corner and walk from there. It was only a 5 minute walk or so from the park to the church.

The walk was nice. Lots of tress and shrubs. There is a protected section of the beach which is nice. It was a bit cool when we went so we were the only ones there.

This site has a great mix of everything you want in a trail. Trees and inland walking trails, ocean side and sand too. Its short, so its good for all ages, but you'd have a hard time with a stroller in the sandy parts.
