My sister, stepdaughter and I stayed her for a three night girls getaway and it was perfect. We stayed in a suite with a bedroom with a king bed and sofa bed in the living area. All three rooms were spacious. In addition, we had a private balcony the length of our suite which had four chairs and two tables but lots of extra room. The inn is located within walking distance to everything. The staff was efficient and helpful. The room clean and well appointed. The only negative was the continental breakfast which needs a few more items - yogurt, fruit, hard boiled eggs. But all in all it was a great place to enjoy.

Room Tip: Stay of the second or third floor overlooking Silver Lake for a nice view.

Okay.. the staff was incredibly nice at first. Upon arrival, the lady at the front desk informed us that continental breakfast was from 7:30-9:45!!! A little to early if you ask me, and definitely not long enough. Oh well.. nothing we couldn't handle. We requested a suite. She told us it was $145 a night. We go up to our TINY room. Literally... I know hotel rooms aren't huge by ANY means but this was BEYOND small.. Not to mention, it was NOT a suite. It was a studio with 2 double beds, a tv, a microwave, a small table, and a small fridge. NOT a suite. A suite would be 2+ adjoining rooms. Anyway, we decided we weren't going to stay!! It was 2 adults and 2 kids with us.. all sleeping in the same room does not work out very well! Anyway, she allowed us to not have to pay and we left. However, she told my husband that she informed me that it was a studio. However, she did not. I listen to those tiny details! It was never mentioned. The hotel isn't even waterfront and for that much money?!?!? We ended up going to to a different hotel on the island and paid WAY less. $108 for an "apartment".. Loved it!! This place would be OK if it was only 1-2 people.. definitely not for families. OH--- they also charge EXTRA for children!!!!!!!

Room Tip: NOT for families or children!! They charge EXTRA for kids!!

To clarify some errors by Jessica. The suite is a studio which does not have the separate bedroom, we do have those as well, but it is still a suite. The private deck does face the harbor and has great unobstucted views of the water. Also the bedding is a queen bed with double sleeper not two doubles.Yes we do charge extra for children although we were not going to charge her. The hotel she went to is in the middle of the village and is decades older than our establishment and for $37 more she would have gotten a deal to stay with us.All in all it worked out because we were able to rent the suite to someone who enjoyed the suite and will be coming back.

My wife and I stayed here in October for our anniversary. The room we had was nice, 2nd floor harbor side, I would highly recommend these rooms as the view is very nice. There was a younger woman working the counter in the morning that did seem a little less than cheerful, but she wasn't rude so no big deal. We didn't stay there to hang with the hotel workers. We didn't partake of the continental breakfast so I cannot comment on that, instead we rode our bikes to the Creekside Cafe where we had great breakfasts and super friendly staff. The location of Ocracoke Harbor Inn is great and you can get anywhere on bike in minutes. I would definitely recommend this place and I am sure we will be staying again for future anniversaries.

Great location with views of Silver Lake. Nice well appointed clean rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Central location on the island with easy access to everything. We have stayed here several times and they are very consistent, never disappoint. We will be back!

Good location, clean rooms and easy to find. We were disappointed with Brenda, the front desk clerk who seemed annoyed with us when we asked her questions, kind of like we were interrupting her work. She seemed to have an attitude. The room was very basic and nothing special but a good value for $88.00. It reminded me of a college dormitory. The guest laundry was nice. Continental breakfast was very spartan and basic, like the rooms. Our biggest disappointment was the sloooooow internet wifi connection. Slow downloads. In addition to Brenda not understanding the concept of hospitality, we found many of the locals to be the same way, that is to say, "tourist unfriendly". After coming to this island to spend money you would think the locals would embrace tourists but not so. Oh well, on to the next town hoping for better.

The hotel is in a quiet location with a great view of the harbour only a short walk from bars and restaurants. Our room was large, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. The owners were welcoming and helpful. The guest laundry was very useful.

Here is the place you are provided a dock and may stay ashore in luxury on a terrific island retreat. The Harbor Inn is great with a wide selection of rooms and cottages available depending upon your needs. Have a light continental in the lobby or zip around town in a 'coke turtle (golf cart), available for rent at the inn. The rooms are positively pristine in cleanliness, the view outstanding, and seemingly extremely private.

Room Tip: Come once and you'll be back.
