We enjoyed our two night stay here even if one caused by weather. We could not leave the island because high winds stopped he ferry. We checked out drove for a half hour and returned. We were given another better room immediately The view of the harbor is perfect and it is located near most of the town.

What a breath of fresh air! This motel was built in the mid-1990's, has a pleasant, quaint feel, and all the comforts of home. My elderly parents loved this place. We checked in for only one night, but had we known how much we would enjoy it, we would have planned for an extra night. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds and a spectacular view of the harbor from our balcony. There is a luggage elevator which was convenient. Also, ice machines and soda machines ($1.00 each). Small fridge in the room. Bathroom vanity is separate from the toilet and shower for convenience. Do laundry for free in their convenient laundry room. They have a private dock with chairs and it is wonderful to take in the sunset and the sunrise. If you walk out to the dock, you can see the lighthouse lit up at night. They advertise continental breakfast, but this was much more than a bagel and coffee. We looked at all the places to stay and decided that this one is the nicest. My mother and father loved watching the fishermen coming and going from the harbor. The ferry to Swans Quarter and Cedar Island is a 3 minute drive from this motel. My folks have traveled everywhere and they said this was the nicest inn! There is even a view of the harbor from the dining room where the continental breakfast is served! The staff is very hospitable.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on 2nd or 3rd floor for best view of the harbor.

We stayed at the OHI during the busiest time of the year and found absolute perfection regarding the inn and its amenities. The room and bed was pure comfort and the staff extended the most courteous of service. The setting is beautiful overlooking the harbor and marina. We did not want to leave....thank you to Byron and his wonderful staff!

Stayed overnight on 9/9/2013. Room was clean and cool for a hot day. They had coffee in the room and a nice breakfast in the morning. The location is ideal and could walk to shops and eating establishments.. When I return to Ocracoke I will return to this Inn.

This is the first visit for me and my group of friend/sisters! We booked four rooms and they put us on a lovely waterfront view group of rooms with adjoining porches. As soon as I got off the ferry the whole village took my breath away. Our rooms were perfect, beds were very comfortable, service was just perfect in every way. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I am already ready to go back! This was by far the best vacation I have had in a long time and the Harbor Inn is a first class place to stay!

Room Tip: We rented our golf carts from another place there than the motel (a reality called the Blue Heron) a...

We stayed at the Harbor Inn for one night for an end of summer trip with our grandsons. It was clean, the air conditioning worked well and the beds were comfortable. The view from the balcony of the harbor was beautiful. It was a perfect location to explore the island. The continental breakfast was appreciated before we started on our trek up the island.

After reading about this hotel on Trip Advisor, we booked it for two nights. We stayed in a second floor room with an amazing view of the harbor. Comfortable chairs on our balcony provided a great viewing opportunity. Our room was extremely clean and the bed was comfy. The office staff was friendly and helpful. After riding bikes around the island and looking at other hotels, I am certain this is the place for me.
