“Lovely View of Silver Lake”
Reviewed 16 June 2005

During my recent tour of the Outer Banks, we stayed at the Ocracoke Harbor Inn. The view from the balcony of the harbor (i.e., Silver Lake) was wonderful. The hotel is convenient to many shops and restaurents by foot. I had a great time.

Having lived in Eastern NC all of my life and being crazy about the beach, I have visited the island many times. The unspoiled beaches and warm ocean water are the best! The Ocracoke Harbor Inn is my favorite place to stay. The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. The room over the office is perfect, rain or shine - the best view in the village especially from the 2 person jacuzzi tub! The grounds are well-kept and I love the dock and pier, particularly at sunset. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Continental breakfast is a nice touch. My only suggestion is to make the bikes complimentary.

Their handicap accessible room "really"is" fully equipped for the handicapped or someone in a wheelchair. The bathroom is large enough to turn around in, has high toilet, grab bars at the toilet & bathtub.
There is also plenty of space to get to both sides of the bed in a wheelchair. The room was spotlessly clean, & had a mini fridge & cofee maker in the room. The only negative was the handicap accessible room is located in the back-so there is no view of the harbor. Joan Hall Olivia NC

This was our first stay at the Inn. Arriving late and having management remember to leave us a key was absolutely wonderful. The entire stay was a most enjoyable time and we plan to make this Inn our favorite Ocracoke Getaway -- and tell all our friends & family as well.

We called ahead from the ferry terminal about two hours before arriving. Was able to secure a room for just $90.00 (tues night) and it was a wonderful room overlooking the harbor from our private balcony.
We didn't get to see the sunset as it started to rain (we bring our cloud with us wherever we go) but we could still sit on the porch as it was enclosed. Room was lovely. We decided to stay an extra day and were told the only room available was a suite for $150.00 and we took it.
The only draw back about the suite was the couch sagged quite a bit but everything else was perfect. There was a large porch but it was not covered so it became quite breezy especially when Hurricane Isabel was on it's way. I will go back here. By the way the staff was extremely friendly, even offered to drive us to a restaurant if we wanted. They even called us early in the morning to tell us we could move to the suite as soon as we wanted which gave us a whole day in a nice room to enjoy. You will like it!

Great place to stay! Very private and clean. No one bothers you but, the room is always clean with fresh linens and towels. If you want luxury and night-life-go to Vegas. If you want relaxation and nature at it's finest come here. No pool or room service, but it lacks in nothing at all-a great vacation value!!!

We spend our first family vacation with our baby at the Ocracoke Harbour Inn. What a wonder island to visit. The hotel was very clean and the view was wonderful from our room. You don't need anything other than a bike and some sun sceen. I highy recommend this island and the hotel for a laid-back - worry free vacation. The Saucy Shrimp has good pasta!
