We stayed at Ocracoke Harbor Inn for one night. Room was overlooking the harbor, so the view was quite nice. However, there was an unpleasant odor in the room which put a damper on our stay. If I returned to Ocracoke, I would definitely check out other places.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on our Outer Banks lighthouse tour. This was by far our favorite spot to stay. We even rented a golf cart and rode around on the island. This hotel was in a great area. The staff was courtesy and offered many areas to check out. It was a short 5 minute walk to the lighthouse. A 15 minute walk to the ocean. A 15 minute walk to the general grocery store and slushy ice cream shack. They only thing they did not have was a pool, but who needs one when you have the ocean. They have a small luggage elevator to transport your luggage to and from the bottom floor. The rooms were very clean and we did have our own private spot/balcony to view the harbor as ships were coming in or leaving. The breakfast was the usual juice, cereal, bagel, etc variety. There were plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

This was our first (but def not last!) trip to the OBX and to Ocracoke. My wife and I took a 3 day mini Vacation to tour the OBX starting at Corolla to Ocracoke. My wife called the Ocracoke Harbor Inn on 5/20 and spoke w/ most pleasant woman named Megan. She completed our reservation and upon arrival the next day were "wow'ed" by every facet of our stay. We wanted to stay another night, but inn was booked for that Saturday night. After check out, we were going to explore the island until the 2 pm ferry, and Megan was even gracious enough to allow us to "drop back by" to use the phone or the "facilities". When we left we felt we were leaving a friend we couldn't wait to get back to visit again. Room was very clean, bed comfortable, wi-fi worked well, tv reception clear, view and made to feel welcome - priceless! Thank you Megan and all staff at Ocracoke Harbor Inn.

The Ocracoke Harbor Inn is refreshingly clean and modern, filled with amenities, including a jetted jacouzi and deck overlooking Silver Lake! The staff are cordial, welcoming and made us feel at home. We are planning to return in the fall and will only stay at the Ocracoke Harbor Inn!

We booked this Inn from our laptop as we waited in line to go across on the ferry. We arrived after dark and drove about 5 minutes to the Inn so we couldn't see the charm of this village and this inn. Our room was immaculate and very well appointed with wicker furniture and a nautical theme - very cozy and comfortable. In the morning we enjoyed a continental breakfast (complimentary) overlooking the harbor in the offce section of the inn (across street from the building where most of the rooms are) - it was raining so we stayed inside looking out over the decks with adirondack chairs (which would have been so nice in good weather)to the harbor with many boats, birds and ocean. After breakfast we strolled around the village enjoying the many shops and local points of interest.
It was our first visit to the Outer Banks and what a wonderful introduction to this beautiful area. The level of relaxation in this village and the whole area is contagious. Sorry we were not staying more than one night here - but we left and traveled along the Outer Banks for the next 2 days.

One of the newspaper ads claims that all rooms have private balconies. Although we did not get a harbor-side room, I thought we would still have a balcony. We did not, and I was rather disappointed.

I must say that the room was pretty clean, although the shower head had not been cleaned and had some red residue on it, and we had ants the last morning. One of the electrical outlets was missing its cover and we had to ask the management to turn on the Direct TV feed. (They covered the outlet at the same time). the sheets and towels were very clean as were the floors and walls. The mattress was too soft and the blankets and beadspread were old and really needed to be changed.

The Contental breakfast had a lot to be desired with small boxes of cereal, muffins, bagels, and coffee and juice. The same fare every day.. could have used a change.

The hotel was quiet and located in a great spot and was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. It was in close proximity to fantastic beaches as well.

That particular room though, I felt was over-priced... it should have been in the $75. - $80. range

We've stayed here several times before, but this is the first time we've rented the suite. What a difference the additional space makes when traveling with a teen! We had a living room with sofabed, a dining area and kitchenette. This area was closed off by a door from the master bedrm (with comfy king bed) and bath (and both bath and bedrm also had doors). So lots of privacy, and very quiet even when our teen had tv on after we had gone to bed. Since you could close off door to master area our teen wasn't bothered when we used bath while she was still asleep.
The bath had a separate shower and a double jacuzzi. Didn't take advantage of the jacuzzi much since coming from beach we preferred to shower. But looked large and clean. Lots of room under vanity to store cosmetics, shaving stuff, etc. Plenty of towels and facecloths for all of us. Even supplied an iron and ironing board. Loved that they did provide beach towels too.
Kitchen was well equiped with dishes, silverware, toaster, coffee maker. There is no oven/stove top, just a large micro and full size frig. That was fine for us to keep drinks cold, and ice cream frozen. Also had a good supply of ice.
The deck outside was very large, with access to it from the master bedrm and the liv area - again that worked great for us, whoever was up first would sit out on deck without having to waking anyone else.
Sofabed does have inflatable mattress, but it was very easy to inflate/deflate and you could adjust it to firmness you prefer by simply stopping the air when it was comfortable Our teen thought it was very comfortable.
Even though the inn had no vacancy most nights, it was still pretty quiet.
Only suggestion would be to vary the continental breakfast - it was always same - bagels, bread, pastries and cereals in prepackaged bowls. Maybe add english muffins, yogurt, cut up fruit on some mornings. Altho cost of inn is very reasonable even if breakfast wasn't included, some variety could be offered that doesn't increase the cost too much. And a few more hangars in the closet would be nice too! But these are minor.
Has wi-fi, and laptop guests can use in lobby area.
Location and views cannot be beat!
