Perfect getaway spot -- sit on the deck and watch the goldfinches, indigo buntings, and fireflies or take an easy hike (really more of a stroll) to Point Overlook with its splendid views of Royal Gorge. Do be sure to print the detailed directions to the inn you'll receive with your confirmation email -- we had no difficulty finding our way using them.

We stayed in the Lake View Room and enjoyed sitting on our private screen porch with a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night. Our king bed was very comfy, and the room was large and tastefully decorated. Innkeepers are happy to help with area information and reservations. (Have dinner at Que Sera if at all possible!)

Breakfasts were so hearty you won't need much (if any) lunch, and we were delighted to find oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies in the cookie jar when we returned late one night! Had we encountered rainy weather or stayed longer, we might have taken advantage of the DVD, board game, and book library or the guest refrigerator stocked with water & sodas.

We were just saying how awesome the fireflies have been this summer! We’re so happy you enjoyed your stay in the Lake View Room. It does have one of the best views at the Inn for bird watching. And the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies have been quite a hit, so we will definitely be making them more often. Thanks so much for the review and we hope you can make it back to the Inn soon.

This is a quiet and thoughtfully operated B&B. Great night sleep, great breakfast, in a secluded NC forest with a creek, birds, and all kinds of OTHER wildlife easily seen in the summer. Love the pugs.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Lake View Room and found the spacious room with a porch perfect for a 3 day couples...

My girlfriend and I stayed here in the beginning of May and we had a great stay. Off the beaten path but not in the middle of no where. Easy access to town and only 20-30 mins from Ashville. We both are gluten free and Dave and Brigette Prepared some excelent meals for us. They have a vast knowledge of the area on things to do and places to eat to fit our eating style. They are helpful but not in your business. We would deffinatly go back for another stay.

Room Tip: The mountain laural room looked over a small pond and was in a cottage of the main house. Beautiful...

It was so nice meeting you both and hosting you at the Inn this past spring. The Mountain Laurel Room has become one of our most popular rooms since we redecorated it this year and added the king bed. We’re so glad you had a great stay. Our goal is for our guests to be happy, relaxed and comfortable, so we strive to be as helpful as possible without being intrusive. And thanks so much for the compliments on breakfast! We look forward to seeing you anytime you’re back in our area.

What I really like about the Inn on Mill Creek is the quiet beauty and the rich history of the area. The Inn is located on one of the old buffalo and Indian trails that led into the mountains of Western North Carolina. Later, the first railroad into the region from the East was created along this route. There are beautiful flowers and gardens, and a pond that feeds a geyser located several hundred feet below built in 1895. The rooms are all very private and very nice, they even have a separate building that can be rented out by a family or other groups.

Thank you for the review, Van, and for your kind words about the rooms and the gardens at the Inn on Mill Creek. We love the rich history of the area as well. Mother Nature has been very generous this year with beautiful blooms. We’ll be expanding our garden spaces even more over the next few years.

This is a delightful and charming INN, and the owners , Dave & Bridget, are equally special. The rooms are beautifully decorated, luxury linens, and tasteful furniture. They also have 3 delightful pugs that will greet you on your arrival- ! Breakfast is outstanding, large country style with a gourmet flair ( they are great cooks as well). The grounds, gardens, birds, bubbling water and all
The extra touches in the Inn really make it a wonderful place to stay and feel like your home away from home. !!

Room Tip: We loved the Lakeview room- Lovely mountainside views,

Thank you so much for your kindness! It’s great to hear that you had a wonderful stay in the lovely Lake View Room. We’ve been working hard at making a comfortable and relaxing place for people to enjoy and we always try to think of enhancements that will make a guest’s stay even better. And, of course, the pugs have been working hard at being delightful, in between long naps.

This place is awesome! The grounds of the property were beautiful and the air smelled so good! lol I know the air? But it was fresh mountain air & it just smells different than city air. :) Our room was very clean and tastefully decorated. We received a tour of the house and a refrigerator that we could use. It also had sodas & bottled water. Our hosts were great! Very friendly & knowledgeable about the area and had great suggestions for hikes and other things to do. Let me just say the food was incredible! I mean it looked like it came off a magazine cover and it tasted even better! We stayed for 2 nights & we will be back again soon.

Hey Shelly! We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The fresh mountain air where we are -- surrounded by Pisgah National Forest -- is something that a lot of our guests mention as soon as they get out of the car. We can’t take credit for it, but we do love that it makes our guests so happy. And thank you so much for the compliments on the room and the breakfasts. Dave does make nice looking (and tasting) breakfasts, but shhh, he is very modest.

Our last stop on our Blue Ridge Parkway road trip was the Inn on Mill Creek. Dave & Bridget do a great job of making you fill welcome. They are available if you have questions, but also give you plenty of privacy. Our room was lovely and very clean and well supplied. Breakfast was delicious, and Dave could have been a chef with the way he presented the food. Bridget was very helpful with directions to any place we needed to go, including to their B&B. The Inn is located in the woods, with two rooms for guests in the main house. There is also another building with more rooms available. We would highly recommend this B&B.

Room Tip: Our room was on the side with the road, but the location is off main roads so not a problem. We did...

First of all, we love the title of your review, Fran! Thank you for sharing your experience. As innkeepers, a fun part of our job is helping guests to find interesting things to do in our area, great places to eat, or even just a nice spot to relax and do nothing, and we aim for a good balance between being helpful and giving guests the privacy they desire on their getaway. One tiny correction is that there are three guest rooms in the main building, but there’s still plenty of elbow room and space to relax. Thank you for recommending the Inn and we look forward to seeing you again!
