We stayed at Smaragdi Hotel in August after having spent 10 days in Serifos. The hotel is situated in a quite part of the island with easy access to all the amenities and clubs the island could offer. Compared to the hotels in Serifos, the Smaragdi Hotel was unbelievably good. The rooms were cozy and cleaned every day. The balcony had an amazing view on the town. The owner, Apostolis, was very helpful and made our stay very pleasant. The best part of our stay was, no doubt, the breakfast....until 13pm! Everything was super fresh, the waitresses polite, and you could order fresh orange juice and eggs with no extra charge! We will definitely come back, maybe during the Easter break.

We arrived at Artemonas at about 11:30 and less than an hour later we were in our small but cozy room with a nice balcony with bamboo armchairs!!!
The room was cleaned daily, sheets & towels every second day and the bath products were “Korres”.
This hotel had something that is rare to find in hotels: Breakfast until 13:00! With satisfactory variety of goods, (besides the traditional coffee, tea, hot / cold chocolate, 2-3 kinds of breads, ham or turkey, cheese, butter, honey, marmalade, orange juice, croissant), you could have flesh orange juice, omelets and fresh fruit salad with yogurt, with no extra charge.
The best of all was Antonis, the owner of the hotel. Always helpful with a smile in his face, ready to answer to your questions or give guidelines and information of where to go, what to see, where to have a drink or eat.
We had a pleasant stay.

We had a great family vacation at Sifnos, staying at the Smaragdi hotel, in Artemonas. The hotel is situated in the beginning of the picturesque village, and although it is pretty basic in its accomodations, it is meticulously clean. The maid cleans it daily and the towels are also changed daily. The room that we stayed, being a quadruple room, had 3 verandas, with nice bamboo furniture and relaxing view.
The breakfast was awesome, since apart from the basic croissants, bread and jam, one could order great omelettes or eggs with ham and bacon, and fresh fruit salad with greek yogurt without paying anything extra. Who could ask for more?
Also, a huge plus since we were travelling with our teenage sons, was the fact that one could order breakfast even at 13.00p.m.
Nevertheless, the biggest plus that you will enjoy staying at Smaragdi will be its owner, Antonis. He is the soul of the hotel, always tireless, looking to please everybody, taking his time to greet each of his guests in the morning, advise them on the best spots of the island for food and leisure and make sure that everybody is content. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. It was perfect for us!!!

This hotel appeared nice enough on its web site and the price was decent, so I booked. Quite attractive, but not as nice as the pictures would have you think. The room we had (#4) was VERY small, and the bathroom even smaller. Getting in and out of the shower stall was a problem, and we are a normal-sized couple. The web site stated that the rooms are cleaned daily, and that may have been the case - but I was expecting more - maybe a change of fresh towels. The room was exactly as I had left it, but the maid had been by, as evidenced by the fact that the rubbish had been removed from bin in the bathroom.

There was an awful lot of shouting going on our first day there. A mother was yelling at her children, and I mean 'top of the lungs' hear you till Apollonia (the main town - basically down the street) LOUD.

On the plus side, the owner, Antonis, was very friendly and helpful, always with a smile. Breakfast was plentiful, if uninteresting. Small, white rolls, hot croissants, boxed orange juice, a minute selection of 2 kinds of cold cut and 2 cheeses, honey, and some small chocolate croissants. Orders for coffee or tea were taken at table.

Would I go there again? I don't think so. I'd look for something different. Merely OK. Not impressed.
