“One of my favorite restaurants”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

Gene and Vicky, the owners of S&T's have an excellent restaurant. One of my favorite meals is the Bankers chicken salad. If you celebrate a birthday, Vicky asks all of the patrons to join in singing Happy Birthday while serving up a monster ice cream sundae. The atmosphere is that of the old dairy bar that was located there many years ago. Nostalgia at it's best.

“Great vintage vibe, excellent milkshakes!”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

S & T Soda Shoppe is a must-stop for lunch or a lovely ice cream treat. I love the decor and the old photos around the restaurant. The BLT was good and the chocolate milkshake was even better.

“Great Ice Cream with an Old Fashion Flair”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

If you are looking to go back in time and experience the old fashion soda bar, this is your place. The ice cream is great and don't miss the root beer float.

“great atmosphere, good ice cream”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

We went there on a Tuesday after the lunch hour rush with 8 people. We only ate ice cream but there were lots of people around us ordering food. The place was very busy, but they were able to seat us rather quickly. We all ordered individually as it was a "special treat" day, but you could get by with 2 adults splitting the banana split or 2 kids splitting a 2 scoop sundae, etc... as the portions are a nice size. The 2 scoop sundae is only a few cents more than the one scoop sundae, so by getting the 2 scoops you get more than you can eat and also a variety of ice cream. One of our party got a soda float which they said they very much enjoyed. One thing I liked was that even though it was pricey, the portions were overflowing and at least made you feel like you were getting a great deal, unlike a place like baskin robbins where everything looks so stingy. Anyway our waitress was really sweet and patient (so many flavors to choose through) and even let us look at the upstairs even though it wasn't open. If you like old timey relics and antique items, you'll love just going here for that purpose alone. But be prepared for the bill... our party of 8 cost about 50$ with the tip.

“Another great meal and ice cream”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

Can't go wrong with S&T! Great local eatery plus best ice cream in town. We were in Durham and decided to take a little side trip to Pittsboro and come to our favorite soda shoppe before heading home. We had the grilled pimento cheese and the foot long hotdog with added cheese. The shredded cheese is loaded on top of the dog and then steamed. Yum.
