“Relaxing break with family.....”
Reviewed 25 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The Old Band Room was exactly as promised....charming, beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, everything we needed!....and spotless.
We were blessed with a week of glorious weather and so enjoyed leisurely breakfasts in the walled garden by the stream, so relaxing, and our Labrador spent most of his time in that garden, he just loved it!
We will definitely be returning......

“A wonderful cottage in a lovely village”

We stayed in The Old Band Room at Naunton in April this year for a long weekend, we had a lovely stay and would certainly visit again. This cottage was fantastic for us as it is pet friendly and we could bring our 2 dogs which made our stay in the Cotswold's even better. We found the cottage with ease thanks to the directions given to us in the booking, we parked up on the road along side and collected the key to gain access to this lovely little cottage. The rooms were very well presented, with a large kitchen and dining area and a very comfortable living area to fit 4 of us and 2 dogs. The bedrooms were great size, with 2 double bedrooms that had great amount of space, nice views and one with an en-suite. There was a third smaller bedroom which we did not use. The main bathroom was a great size, however one suggestion would be to install a shower fixture on the wall so you do not have to use the hand held shower head or have a bath. Instead we ended up all using the shower in the en-suite. The beds were a little hard for our liking and the cleanliness of the beds was lacking, we found hairs in both of our beds so we stripped the beds to wash and dry the sheets before sleeping in them, the washer / dryer in the utility room came in very handy. The overall cleanliness of the cottage was slightly lacking however we had made a little exception with it being a pet friendly cottage. Overall all though the cottage was a lovely place to stay, it was always warm thanks to the underfloor heating and a comfortable place to return too after spending long days out in the Cotswold's walking and visiting surrounding villages. The cottage is in a fantastic location to get to many of the lovely villages such as upper and lower slaughter, bourton on the water and more. There are some lovely walks you can make from the cottage, up and over the hills and just round the corner is a stream that runs past the cottage which is lovely to stand on the bridge and listen to the running water. Naunton itself it very pretty, the cottage has a little garden which was lovely to sit in during the evening right next to the stream and we made use of the BBQ. The cottage is just over the road from the Black Horse Inn, a dog friendly pub which meant we were in stumbling distance to get back. Inside of the cottage all of the kitchen utensils and equipment worked fine, one suggestion would be to update the very old dish washer. We would certainly visit again, it was great value and a great stay.
