Embassy Suites by Hilton Raleigh - Durham Airport/Brier Creek

It's hard to beat new hotels, and the Embassy Suites Brier Creek is no exception. When you pull up to the lobby entrance you can tell this isn't the typical 80s-style Embassy Suites. I didn't notice it at the time, but there wasn't the traditional atrium that the older properties have. But there was a very modern feel inside. The lobby included a bar, dining area, coffee shop and lots of seating. My room was a non-suite with a king bed, but it was very modern. There was a 42" flat panel TV mounted on the wall over the desk and it was titled slightly downward to improve the viewing angle from bed. There were 60 or so channels, many in HD including Showtime. The modern feel continued in the bathroom with a back-lit mirror and a glass door walk-in shower with triple head jets (admittedly it took a bit for me to figure out how to work it all). Wi Fi was $9.95/night so I didn't test connectivity or download speed. The hotel is located close to Brier Creeek, a mixed-use complex that features many restaurants. It's about a half-mile walk along an undeveloped stretch of land to the closest restaurants. Conveniently, the hotel shuttle runs every 30 minutes and drops guests off at the restaurant or shop they choose. The morning breakfast was consistent with that of other Embassy Suites properties. My only complaint is that I could hear some loud guests in the room next to mine in the middle of the night. I called the desk to complain and they called next door. It sounded like the noise was coming mostly through the connecting door in the room, perhaps not offering as much insulation as the walls around it. While close to the airport, I didn't find the noise level from flights to be an issue. Overall, a pleasing stay and high marks for the modernization of the chain.

This hotel is wonderful!!! It is by far the best embassy I have stayed in. The new design concept they have implemented is excellent. Although the suites are smaller than the "traditional" embassys, they are much more modern. I even preferred the new lobby & restaurant design as opposed to the old atriums. The staff was super-friendly & knew the area well. We were even allowed to check in early with no extra charge. The express check-out option is awesome. They put your receipt under the door early in the morning & you only have to call down & say room ??? is checking out & go on your merry way (leave keys in room). The courtesy van driver offered to take us any & every where we needed to go. The hotel was superbly clean & quiet. The flight deck patio & pool areas are awesome. The morning breakfast was fresh & while it was not a gigantic selection, it was enough that everyone could find something to satisfy their appetite & it was delicious. Someone even came and collected our trays as we finished eating. The option of sitting outside to eat was wonderful. Housekeeping was amazing as well. There is definitely no riff-raff here. The only thing I kind of questioned was the lack of a bath-tub for bathing small children as I have 2 (stayed home). We will stay here each & every single time we need a little breather. If you want awesome food at a great price try the Carolina Ale House directly across the highway.

Room Tip: book in advance

What a surprise when we checked in to this Embassy Suites - it looks and feels nothing like any in which we have ever stayed, from the lobby to the bar to the pool area to the rooms. It was an absolutely delightful, fresh perspective on family lodging. Our only complaint was that there were no coffee cups in the room included with the coffeemaker. When we inquired at the front desk, they could have said, "I am so sorry. I will have cups sent up immediately." Instead they said, "Go over to the Starbucks (onsite) and get some cups from them."

We stayed here for 3 nights over mothers day weekend to celebrate my daughters graduation from UNC. Really nice hotel loved the suite it had a very modern look and feel the sofa bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in no metal bar in your back. Bathroom was nice really loved the huge walk-in shower but they need more towel racks imo.
They do limit you to two drinks at the managers reception which is kind of weak most of the others we have stayed at don't limit you but they do use their regular bar for the managers reception instead of having a seperate area so maybe that's why.
Good breakfast as usual and there are lots of restaurants nearby to choose from as it is in the Brier Creek area.
We would definitely stay here again.

We were stopping here on our way to Charleston from Maryland. The room was clean, spacious and the staff was courteous and helpful. We had a pleasant night's stay. We did not go out and ordered room service and the food was excellent.

Although, it was near the airport it was amazingly very quiet. We couldn't hear any planes overhead, landing or taking off. We only could tell there was traffic by looking out the window.

This Embassy Suites is excellent in all aspects. The hotel is new and very clean. The rooms are decorated in modern decor. Perfect for family of four or the business traveler. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was freshly prepared. Parking was available both in front of hotel and in underground parking. Only negative, you'll have to drive to any restaurants, only 5 mins away but too far to walk.

Room Tip: Ask for the 8th Floor (top)
