“Great place for a picnic”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

I love the rose garden because it is always so beautiful. It is maintained with tender loving care and offers something all year round. There are picnic tables, lush grass, and benches that provide seating. You can be out in the open or you can find a hidden nook for some privacy even in this public park. It should be noted that there are no public bathrooms.

“Gorgeous!!!!”
Reviewed 15 June 2013

This place is quite hidden and is definitely one of those hidden gems people have referenced it as. The amount of pictures that can be taken here is countless and the roses are extremely beautiful. Plus, if you are there during pruning the groundskeeper will allow you take some of the roses. Nice! They smell so lovely too...

“A small gem near campus”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

The rose garden is relatively small and simple, with a strong focus on the main attraction-roses. At the height of bloom, it's one of the most beautiful spots in Raleigh--perfect for admiring a large variety of roses, for a leisurely stroll, for a romantic chat, for a pleasant picnic lunch. The flowers are truly magnificent, and when conditions are right, the scent is marvelous. This is one of those kinds of attractions that you'd expect to find tucked away in a European city, so kudos to Raleigh for having one as well. Street parking is sometimes difficult during the week when the university is in session, but there's a parking lot on the theater end of the property.

I am a season ticket holder and always get to the theatre early so I can take a walk around the rose garden. If you have a little time to kill this is a great place to see dozens of Rose varieties
