Just arrived home after the most wonderful experience. Even the 4 hour drive there and back was a good experience. Checking out the huge houses set in beautiful grounds was amazing. Everyone we met was very helpful and friendly. Maggie and her team are welcoming, interesting and hardworking. The farm is an increadable business. The horse riding was brilliant. We wish we lived closer and would certainly return, we was made to feel very welcome. Thank you for a great weekend it was a pleasure to meet you all.. Next time we come full staff night out to readding it is !! Nicola and Debbie ( the red letter Yorkshire girls) x

Our daughter and her fiancé wanted a relaxed, rustic, unstuffy experience for their nuptuals and were not disappointed by their wedding at Herons Farm. Accommodation both in the farmhouse and in the cottages/converted stables is quirky and unique, with adjacent activities of the working stables constantly supplying interest, beautiful horses and acres of green fields to look out onto. Don't expect 'full on' boutique-style hotel facilities with modern/contemporary fittings/decor and all the accompanying 'whistes and bells'. What you DO get is all that you need, with Maggie and her team doing everything they can to make your stay/wedding a great experience with a flexible, homely, charming, informal atmosphere. Maggie offered us the use of the Garden BBQ lodge on the night before the wedding where 9 of us sat around an unusual indoor and very atmospheric central fire enjoying pizzas and wine!
Our family breakfast in the farmhouse was a relaxed affair, very tasty, plentiful and quick to arrive - important when hairdressers and make-up have to be done early!
Elaine, the wedding co-ordinator, did a great job in making the wedding itself run smoothly in the Barn and was invaluable for all her help and advice.
A wonderful wedding indeed!

I stayed in the 'spiral' cottage for two nights with my husband while we attended a friend's wedding. The 'spiral' cottage is amazing. Lovely spiral stairs upto a bedroom with lovely views. Novel bathroom and its unique character makes it a fun place to stay. I especially liked the little bath. I think I need one in my own house :) The staff are friendly and welcoming. Thankyou for an excellent weekend.

a wonderfully relaxed and laid back environment for a wedding. We were made to feel so welcome, at breakfast nothing was too much trouble. A lovely place for a 6 year old as well. It would be a great place for a holiday as well, with great places to visit nearby.

We had an absolutely fabulous wedding at Herons Farm in its idyllic natural setting surrounded by horses!
Maggie runs the house where nothing is too much trouble and unusual requests are met!
Elaine the events coordinator was always available and always put the bride and groom first. She was happy to deal with the inevitable hiccups and respond to changing circumstances, and then there was...
Richie, who Inspired us with confidence from the start, calm and controlled. The catering went like clockwork, no stress!

What a team. Well done!

This is the perfect place to escape for a country retreat. The surroundings are idillic, and the accommodation is spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was superb, plenty of choice and very flexible. The host is absolutely fantastic and made us feel very welcome and at ease. We stayed here as a base for my graduation and only wished we had more time to explore the glorious surroundings. This would make a great place for a few days away and I can only imagine that the weddings here are fantastic! Would thoroughly recommend Herons Farm to anyone.

My family and I travelled from Ireland in our motor home. I was recommended this fantastic location for peace, rest and relaxation. I we certainly got all we expected. Maggie the owner couldn't do enough for us. She made us feel as if we were part of the family. We woke up to a beautiful scene of horses grazing and galloping though the fields and paddocks. We meet some wonderful people whilst walking through the 400 odd acres of land and woodland. The owners of the horses were equally as lovely and they give great pleasure in allowing us to interact with some of the horse. An event we don't normally get to experience. We did inspect the cottage on site with the view of possibly renting one in the future. They were well presented, clean and comfortable. The beds had memory foam mattresses. to give a concise description of our stay I will use words such as homely, clean, comfortable and really welcoming.Maggie and the team will make your stay amazing.
