Rooms are very average and TV did not work but worst of all was the aggressive desk manager who abused me when I complained that my clothes had been wet for two hours because the hotel janitor was using the guest dryer for his personal use.

To access the main lobby after hours, you must use the front entrance. So walk around the entire building. Bed is creaky, master key locks on doors are missing/broken. The service desk is clearly just trying to do their best in a place they know that sucks. In all my travels, I've only been to one other hotel that sucked as much. Oh yeah, the tv only gets 22 stations! WTF!

Room Tip: rooms in a better hotel may be safer.

We chose Quality Inn because we were traveling with two dogs which they accept for a nominal fee. (The location is not immediately off the highway 95). The rooms are dated and worn with tears and stains. The breakfast area was poorly stocked with limited choices unless carbs are what you crave. Though there was an attendant, he did little to keep food items stocked or the area clean. Unfortunately we left a few items behind and they were not reported to the front desk. We are continuing to follow up but not optimistic that we will find satisfaction.

Don't even think about staying here....what a dump! The curtains were disgusting, the carpet filthy, the sheets had some holes, I actually can't think of one good thing to say about it....but I do have to say, find another place to stay....it was horrible ! It probably hasn't been refurbished in decades...maybe the 60's???? And has been cleaned much in that time either.....if we hadn't been so exhausted we wouldn't have stayed.....Keep looking for somewhere else to stay.

On a trip from Florida to the Outer Banks of NC we decided to spend a night on the road. Hungry and tired, we made it to Rocky Mount, and went online to find a hotel or motel. The Quality Inn seemed OK, at least from the outside, but the room was like a 1950s roadside motel. Good enough, but next time we'll raise our standards. Rate was $67.

We had traveled many miles and needed an overnight stop in Rocky Mount. This Quality Inn is very difficult to get to. We circled around several times before finally getting into the lot. Could see the overhead sign, but nothing at street level to help guide us in. The room was tired and the carpet was awful. The upholstered chair was so dirty I wouldn't sit on it. The room amenities were minimal, far less than what we found at other Qualities. There was supposed to be WiFi in the room, but no one at the desk could get it to work for me even though I was supposedly connected. The staff was pleasant enough and responded quickly to our request for a bedside lamp light bulb. It turned out that the plug had been pulled out, and I was sorry to look behind the bed to determine the problem. The dirt was revolting. The bed itself seemed clean enough to sleep in; the shower was adequate. A breakfast area off the lobby provided a few hot items, cereal, yogurt, juice etc. It was enough to get us going, and the area was pleasant enough. I was able to use the lobby computer to do what I needed. but we were glad to get on the road and leave this place behind. It is frustrating that there is so little consistency in standards across this lodging chain.

Room Tip: Can not recommend this hotel, though it met our most basic need for overnight shelter.

My wife and I and our dog stayed at the Quality Inn, Rocky Mount for one night on our trip to Florida. The hotel has outside corridors. The room size was adequate for both of us plus the dog. The large comfortable easy chair was a tight squeeze in the corner of the room between a bed and the wall air conditioner unit. There was no fridge or micro in the room. Vending/ice are conveniently located next to the lobby. We were on the second level on the rear side of the building away from the main road. There was a third level above our room. The room and bathroom were both very clean. The bathroom sink is outside the commode area. There was a flat scren TV in the room. We had been on the road for over eleven hours so we were mainly interested in getting a good nights sleep. Consequently, we used very few of the hotels amenities such as the TV etc. The beds were comfortable and since the room was in the rear away from the road, it was very quiet. We got a very good nights sleep. The only minor noise came from a guest above us getting up to shower early the next morning. The hotel staff were freindly and courteous both at check-in and check-out. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel was great for our one night stay. We did not use enough amenities nor stay long enough to come up with a realistic overall hotel rating for a longer stay. Based on our one night stay, I did not see any major/minor problems that would keep me from recommending the Quality Inn Rocky Mount to my fellow travellers.

Room Tip: Request a room in the rear away from the road and on the upper level if possible.
