This is a basic youth hostel. We had a twin room, which was fine. Our daughter was in a dorm. The bathroom wasn't the best, but adequate, especially for being Chinese.
There was a nice communal area downstairs, and the food was good. The beers were cheap and cold. The one problem we had with the bathroom was sorted out immediately we mentioned it. The gentleman (Victor? His brother did the youth hostel inside the national park) was brilliant. He spoke good English and was so helpful! He advised exactly what we should do in the National Park, and wrote directions on a map for us. Without his advice, we would have missed a lot I think. When we lost the map, we were distraught, and our daughter ran down and up 600 steps to try to find it - but luckily by then, we could remember most of his instructions. We were on the 3rd floor, and at one point I went downstairs to get a better internet connection.
We stayed one night before going into the park, and one night after. So long as you realise it is a youth hostel and not a hotel, and especially because of its location and the helpfulness of the staff I would certainly recommend it.More
