“AVOID. Expensive and better hotels.”
Reviewed 1 August 2014 via mobile

Filthy and expensive. Stains all over the floor and furniture. Extremely mouldy bathroom. Breakfasts are terrible, most not use to Chinese food would struggle. Staff don't speak any English and weren't very helpful. Only has wifi in the lobby. They wanted to pay each day for the night we were staying, wouldn't let us pay all up front. Bed were like sleeping on a rock. AC barely works, still had a very hot night sleep. AVOID THIS HOTEL. Sure this hotel is the closest to the park, your better off walk the few extra minutes!

The Jintian seemed to be primarily used by local tour groups, which led to large noisy crowds of people yelling and smoking. When we checked in late at night, we were told they never received our reservation and didn't have any rooms left. After we showed them a copy of our reservation email, they then claimed to have one last room available. The room was old/dirty and the beds were uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend slippers for walking around the room. Also, they leave the hallway lights off so you have to walk in near darkness at night.

The breakfast was terrible. Given the aforementioned large tour groups that use this hotel, at least half the buffet trays were always empty. And the available food was unappetizing. The cooked food was bland and the breads were dry. There's a small convenience store outside of the hotel; I would recommend picking up snacks/drinks there for breakfast.

The only positive for Jintian is that it is walking distance to one of the park's entrances. However, you'll still need a driver to see the other sites in the area.

This is a nice hotel, near Wuliyuan nature Reserve Park. We stayed here for 2 night. But, most of the rooms we booked, has probems with AC. It's so hot. The weather outside was already hot, but the AC, keeps show the 28 degrees, which means it's getting hot from the outside.
Many of my trip members, has complain about the AC. And planned to move to another hotel. But, because it's high season, so it's hard to looking for the other hotel. So they changed our room. The breakfast was not suitable to our taste, all is flat. And the table is dirty. So far it's a nice hotel, maybe they should change their service, and serve better.

This is a great find. Huge rooms, very clean and helpful friendly staff. The hotel is only about 100m from the entrance to the park so it couldn't be more convenient. The price was also very reasonable. There aren't any fancy bars or swimming pools or casinos. It is just an honest hotel with a good location. I would recommend this place to anyone. Don't expect many of the staff to speak anything other than Chinese languages.

Room Tip: Try for a room in building 3 which is at the back. This is a newer block

I went with a travel agency as it was my first time to Zhangjiajie, the birth place of the famous movie; Avatar.

When i reached there, apparently it was low season, thus they didnt even bother to switch on the lights among the corridors, thus the whole hotel appeared dark and gloomy. Room was extremely big with two queen sized beds. The digital TV was a chore to operate and I had to call the staff to help me to setup every single time I need to use it, but alot of local channels were available once you start it up.

Hated the exhaust fan within the bathroom as it was really loud, furniture were old and run down but had a above-average bed for a good sleep.

Breakfast was craps, and servers tend to use their bare hands when cooking ala-minute noodles, their uniform seems like it havent been washed for a month.

The only good thing about it was the location, its about 5 minutes walk to the Wu Ling Yuan Natural Reserve Park, and the air is really good, the water which is supplied to the hotel is supposedly spring mountain water.

You can get better INTERNATIONAL hotels in Zhangjiajie..

Room Tip: I was on the third floor, more quiet as the first floor rooms are directly beside the main lobby.

The hotel is very close to the Zhangjiajie National Park, which tourists can walk and take a National park's bus to cable car or 326m-glass lift. Foreign tourists should bring your own toiletry, bath towel, and slipper even though they are provided. if some tourists have difficulty in eating typical Chinese food, should you bring you own stuff for breakfast since they serve hot meal for breakfast; drinks are also flat. Smoking in building are allowed.

After an overnight train ride from Shanghai to Guilin we checked into the Guilin Hostel for one night before heading via mini-bus to Dhazi the next morning. Met by lovely Ayi we walked the beautiful rock paths to our destination - the Jintian Hotel, situated an hour's walk from the last vehicle accessible spot before the village.
We were made very welcome. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor and had amazing views across the rice terraces. Being as high as we were gave us a great view down the mountain towards the village, hidden away behind the undulating scenary. We had 2 gorgeous days walking the mountainous paths, enjoying the natural surroundings and fresh air. On our return from our walks we would feast on the delicious food cooked by Hannah, the efficient and friendly lady who runs the hotel. We couldn't have asked for more and would one day love to return to this beautiful part of the world and the Jintian Hotel.
