Although it was chilly when we visited, we enjoyed a late lunch of bread, cheese, olives, and wine on the rooftop terrace one day, and, each day, the view from our window facing the sea. We booked the hotel on Booking.com and asked for a room with a balcony, but, when we arrived, they told us there was only one balcony room and it had been booked already. If you book, be sure to ask for a sea view room, as the rooms at the back look like they face the wall of the neighboring property.
One of the best things about our visit was meeting Michelangelo of Michelangelo Transfer, who picked us up at the airport after our late flight and acted as our driver and guide for two of the four days we were in Trapani. Besides speaking excellent English, he's a charming and knowledgeable man who immediately makes you feel like a special guest whose company he enjoys as he's showing you the sights, which, for us, were Erice and, Segesta one day and Mozia and Marsala on another. Along the way, he pointed out areas of interest, told us some of the history of the area, and explained how the salt is processed (definitely visit the salt pans and museum).

Room Tip: Book a room on a higher floor with a sea view. The shower floor is very slippery, which we pointed...

Wie used this hotel for a short trip to provincia Trapani,
to do some shopping in Trapani and visiting Trapani, Marsala and the famous salines.

The hotel is situated in Trapani old town, making it easy to find all the nice shops around there.

The room was spacy, clean and comes with a large bath room which is also proper clean.

The breakfast was oppoulent with a good italian style coffee.

The receptionist was helpful and friendly.

A good choice in Trapani we will for sure use again when we travel to Trapani.

Room Tip: We used an appartment

We spent two nights here in November, and it was perfect. The hotel was very interesting because it preserved some of the original 16th century details when it was renovated a few years ago, and the location was perfect. The staff was great and the room was clean. Loved the water view! Trapani is a great town to use as a base, and we highly recommend the hotel.

My favorite hotel in Trapani: I stayed here several times, it's nice, quiet and very comfortable, near to the sea and the historical centre. The hotel is in a charming old building perfectly restored. There's a little but well equipped gym. The staff is friendly and professional.

We loved La Gancia. The front desk was SO courteous, letting us drop off our luggage before check-in time, giving us free candies, great maps, and some good ideas for local tourism.

The building is an old convent, and they kept a lot of the old characteristics from the original structure. For instance, they put a glass cover over an old well, and you walk directly over it on your way to the elevator. Scary and cool! The rooms are huge and comfortable, with kitchens. Let it be known that if you decide to use the kitchen, there is an additional cleaning fee that applies. That was hard to find, but I did read it on one of the various hotel pamphlets. I think it was 40 euros.

The location is perfect for exploring Trapani or for catching a ferry to the Egadi Islands. If you drove to Trapani, you can skirt the ZTL zone and unload your luggage right in front (we didn't know this, so we parked in a free lot and lugged our bags about 10 minutes...better safe than sorry I guess!)

Stay here! The price is right and the hotel is very nice. During our stay, there was a manager's reception on the roof deck that featured a free Sicilian and Trapanese dinner buffet. Cous cous with fish, tapenade, olives, ooh lala! We enjoyed it very much.

This was a fabulous hotel. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. The breakfast was a step up from the average Italian sweet bread. The great location was on both the waterfront and in the historical district. It was easy walking to almost everywhere. Hope we can return soon.
