“No Way A 4* Hotel. Would Not Stay Here Again!! But A Cheap Break!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2011

I booked this holiday for a 5 night relaxing break with my partner. Our first impressions were not good atall. We arrived at reception and were told that our room was not ready yet and to come back in 1 hour (we were not given our all inclusive cards so went and sat in a bar down the road for an hour) we returned an hour later and were given our room key card. We went up to our room on the 2nd floor, which was VERY dark and dindgy - opened our room only to find it had not been cleaned from the previous people! We went back to reception and asked for another room but was told NO by a very rude receptionist and told wait another hour!! After another hour had passed we went back to the room - to find it had still not even been touched by the cleaners, so went back to reception and asked for another room - and was finally given a different room. The room was basic and dated and really needed to be refurbished. The bathroom itself was clean but the shower curtain was hanging off the rail and mouldy! Our room was overlooking the town and it was VERY noisy all night long! The walls of the hotel are paper thin and you can hear everything either side of you and above and below and doors banging ALL night long - so not much sleep atall!! On our last night a massive fight broke out between two families including the adults and the Children right outside of our room in the hall way - and the hotel staff did nothing to calm it down - just basically let them carry on, NOT THE ATTITUDE OF A 4* HOTEL!!
The food was OK, filled a hole and no upset tummy complaints, the staff always ensured that the food was kept topped up and regulary replaced it with fresh hot food. The all inclusive drinks service was good and worth having and the bar staff were constantly cleaning the bar area and making it tidy. The entertainment was rubbish (not sure you can even call karaoke entertainment; but some people enjoyed it). The pools were clean and on the roof top of the hotel is another pool, jacuzzi's, sun beds and another bar - which was great and very quiet and relaxing up there. The hotel is a 1min walk away from a lovely clean beach. Golden sands and crystal blue sea - deff worth a visit.
To Sum it up the Hotel is deff NOT a 4* hotel and I would Not stay here again or recommend it to a friend, but we made the most of what we had and enjoyed a break away together!

Went here on a Stag do, weather wasn't too good i.e raining but the bar staff were a good laugh and the room and hotel in general were better than we expected. The food is not so good, mass produced and reoccurring themes. 6 euro cab ride from town and recommend the queen vic pub and America for food

This was my 2nd visit to the Royal Beach hotel, so I knew what to expect, my friend and I decided we wanted a cheap break away with a bit of sunshine, and paid £70.50 each to stay there for 3 nights all inc over the bank holiday - BARGAIN

The hotel is not for those looking for a peaceful break and is basic and full of groups, whilst we was there there was a Hen do, Stag Do, and a party of 38 Rugby lads on tour, amongst others. Everyone mixed well and the atmosphere was great

The food isnt fantastic but its not as terrible as some folk make out, it is basic but for the price you cant complain, the rooms are also basic but ours was kept spotless by our friendly cleaner every day, and who goes on holiday to sit in their room all day. The staff were all really friendly from Reception to the Bar, and generally had a laugh with us at all times,

The all inclusive stops bang on 12pm... but then theres a fantastic bar across the road.. The Robin hood, which stays open until around 4am.. as we went there every night I cant really comment on the noise in the hotel as some have previously done

We are definately looking to go again next year for the bank holiday

So................... if your looking for a cheap getaway look no further.

Please feel free to contact me if you want any more info :)

At a cost of less then £200 for 2 people all inclusive for 5 nights i cant complain! The food is basic but there is still something there that can fill a hole! I have stayed at the Royal Beach now on 7 occasions and the price everytime has been fantastic! Wish people would stop whinging about it! You get what u pay for after all!! Cheaper to go here then it is to spend 5 nights in Blackpool....

Firstly to all these people writing poor reviews, wise up, you get what you pay for. We stayed in the Royal Beach from Friday to Monday for a stag do, how could you pass up the opportunity of All-inclusive for 3 nights £75 each.

When we arrived the staff were extremely helpful at reception, especially the man taking the photos, he was a good laugh. We were all checked in quickly and passposrt return straight away as promised.

Following this we headed to the pool/bar area, this was grand, it was clean and there were plenty of chairs for us all. The bar staff were fine, nothing else was expected, they served the drink as they were supposed to, what to people want.....a hug and a kiss with every drink. the pool itself, seemed clean, i think people are being picky and complaining about it being dirty. Reps were good craic too and tried their best to get people involved in games, which i have to say turned out to be a lot more fun that expected...i am the current Mikado champion by the way.

the food was basic but it was enough to keep everyone ticking over, out of a group of 18, no one complained about being sick from the food.

the all inclusive bar stayed open to 12, which was just a perfect time to head over to the wonderful little bar/club called the Robin Hood. We all had a great time in there and mixed well with the locals :-)

Overall i couldnt fault anything except for the early pick up time on Monday morning (but that was the stags fault), so i will reiterate this again....if you are looking for a cheap, fun break away then the Royal Beach is perfect. 5 stars from me!!! until next year for the reunion!!!

I went with a group of 11 other women on a hen weekend, we are all middle aged so was not in for a drinking mad weekend.....
Have to say I have never experienced a stay like it.. From beginning to end it was a nightmare, but once out of hotel experienced some nice food etc.
We went all inclusive but did not eat a thing after our first trip the so called restaurant .... it made us all sick even to look at the trash they served up!!!!!!!!!!! Reception Staff rude, Bar staff rude, Restaurant staff rude.. I have worked in hotels but my oh my this was just beyond recognition that I am still shocked that this place exists are actually allowed to operate like... Young stag parties.. hen parties ... soooooooooooo much noise not a wink of sleep do you get... no management to oversee anything.. they just let it all go on... the 4 stars that are on the hotel must have fell out of the sky.. cos it ain't even worth 1.... it has to be the worst nightmare that you can ever dream of... I will never be back in that area again.. One of the girls had her purse stolen also on the very first day of arrival just up in town by a pickpocket so all in all we could not get back to the UK quick enough....Worst ever...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Myself and my Partner Wanted to go away for 3 nights, Somewere Hot ! So When we booked online 4* All inclusive For 3 nights close to the beach and local bars and shops for £450 altogether sounded perfect.....The nightmare began when we arrived at the hotel, the reception looks identical to a funeral parlour! we were ignored when we checked in as the receptionist was too busy chatting! when we took the lift to the fourth floor it was dingy, dirty, it smelt like stale ciggarettes and sweat! our room was very very basic, dated with two single beds and flimsy white sheets, i felt dirty just being there! the bar staff were extremely rude, as if they hated all inclusive guests, we never dared to go in the swimming pool as it was covered in grime, The food was vile, we lived off soup and chips! I was so shocked at such poor quality food? it made us both feel sick just looking at what theyd dragged together! We did not sleep a wink due to the distruptive stag parties who were up all night throwing food and ciggarettes over the balconys and screaming all night ! there was about 60 spanish students who were running up and down the corridores! ive been many a places all over the world and spain several times and was just very confused with this HOSTEL, It should never in a million years be rated a 4* id give it a 1*! never again!!!!
