I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the H Top Royal Beach. We were a party of 17 women on a hen weekend and i must say the hotel coped with us quite well. Managed to put us all in rooms next to each other and eventually gave us the right amount of beds (though 4 adults in 1 room was a bit tight).
The reception staff were a little grumpy but helpful. The bar staff were nice & pleasant but not very quick at serving.
The hotel was overall very clean and the food was very nice. Not as much choice as other AI hotels i've stayed in but still very nice.
Onto the bad points..... When you check in you get a card with your photo on to use for your food & drinks. You can only get 1 drink with the cards, but are allowed to take only 2 to the bar at one time. The queue fro the bar is always quite long and as i said before the staff are lovely but very slow.
The same thing works in the restaraunt there is always a queue at the bar and there is no other way of getting a drink with your meal not even a glass of water! This i can only suppose is to cut costs on wastage (not that we would be wasting any). The drinks are served in a small thin plastic glass and i must say they have to be watered down. There is no way back home i could consume that amount of vodka (even cheap Lidl stuff) and not be paraletic!
If you have a drink over the road at the Robin Hood it is much stronger. Drinks in Lloret (after a 20-30 min walk up and down a hill) can be cheap if you hit a happy hour but you must have their house spirit and gun mixer. I got a vodka & lemonade for 2 euro. A vodka & redbull cost an outstanding 5.50!!

The Pool during the day can be very busy and doesn't start to see the sun until approx 11am. If you want peace and quiet they have a roof terrace with a small pool and 2 jacuzzi's. We spent all day up there it was heaven!

I would recomend this hotel, but i would probably like to stay somewhere a bit closer to the town centre next time.

We went to Lloret de Mar for my partners birthday and had a budget to stick to. We went all inclusive, which i was REALLY pleased with. Yes people are right when they say you will not get a brakefast like you will at home, they just dont do brakefast like we do. You do have to wait inline to toast your own bread (we didnt find it that bad we just waited until it was free to do so). But there is plenty to choose from and always something to eat. Lunch and dinner was always great, something different to try all the time, local dishes and some pasta and chips for those boring ones who refuse to try something different. We were never hungry and didnt spend money on food unless we were out for lunch. The hotel does need to be updated or redecorated but if your looking for somewhere just to put your head at night and a few drinks in the evening its fine! We were a 3 minute walk from the beach, (it's not your typical sand, it's quite large grains so it tickles your feet, not a bad thing though because its so hot you dont want sad stuck to you). The beach was SUPER clean, aways someone picking up rubbish, but the only downer would be you need to keep an extra vidulent eye on your little ones, so many children got lost. Other bad thing on the beach which cant be helped it is sea has a huge decline to it so you could easily get pulled out or worse your little one, never let them go on there own. I got stung by a jelly fish the hotel didnt show any concern as they said it happened all the time, but that was me out of action from walking for a couple of days. There was free shuttle buses to all major locations free of charge right out side your door! Fantastic! And a free ride back! Altough all parks are VERY exspensive, entrance and food. It was also only a 15 minute walk into the nearest town which i loved, very touristy but it was good to see and the walk was lovely, it takes to the other side of Lloret de Mar which is gorgeous. Try get on a open top bus tour if you can it would be awesome. Room was always clean and bead made, they even folded my pj's and put them under my pillow, bless, and the bathroom always cleaned with fresh towels and loo roll. Lovely surrounding area and very clean, lots or local foodies and pubs, even local football to watch. Over all would go again, just to see a bit more of Lloret de Mar. PS you are a LONG way from Barcelona Central, hours on the coatch, you have to leave early morning!

Do not go here if you want fast bar service or edible food. It takes 15-20 mins to get a drink and the food is very bland and repetative. No pool side snacks available only if eaten in resturant and evening snacks are curled up sandwiches from bar. Most bar staff appear to spend more time chatting to each other than serving customers. It does help if you are 6ft tall and female to get served without queing. There were a large number of complaints, made to the Hotel management, from customers about the service in the Hotel. This is the only Hotel that I have ever wanted to complain about and was glad to leave after my weeks holiday. This is a shame because the Town and the surrounding area is very pleasant. The local bars and resturants were worth visiting and the difference between the staff in these is total different. The feeling amongst most of the guests was that there was a lot of time wasting to try and cut down the costs to the Hotel

after landing and checking in late we decided to have a drink on balcony and play cards, to find there was no table only two chairs and the light on the balcony did not work, it is switched on and off from inside at a certain time. if you like cider you have to pay 5 euros for it but it does not state that when you book. the food was repetative for the full week we were there, there may be 1 different dish if you were lucky. pleased we didnt book for 2 weeks. Okay for a cheap break but not alot for children apart from the kids club which is on every night at 8.45.

Myself and my partner (24 & 26) stayed here for a short break in June 2010 and we were both pleasantly suprised!! it was absolutley everything we needed! The all inclusive option was what we took however if you are a fussy easter and want al a carte type food then dont do all inclusive! The food was nice/edible however wasnt great (in the sense as it was more school dinner sort of style!!) however we never went hungry and there was a wide variety so we always had something to eat! The drinks were most definately not watered down as some people have wrote!! They dont serve well known brands (ie Smirnof) in the all inclusive but more sort of Aldi own brand spirits!!! This wasnt a negative for us as they were all still lovely and did the same job!!! All staff were fantastic and approachable and the cleanliness of the bar/pool area was most definatley top dollar!! The evening entertainment was a bit cheesy however was brilliant for those with young families and there was always entertainment for children. It was approx a 2 minute walk to the beach which was absolutley amazing, and was infact one of the nicest beaches i have visited (and i have travelled a lot!!), it was a small sort of 'Cove' beach which was occupied with local people which abviously means its a good one, there are a few bars and restaurants along the beach and also free toilets which were immaculate. About a half an hour walk away is the main larger beach which was very busy. The hotel has a few bars and restaurants over the road as well as a couple of typical holiday shops but if you walk approx 20 minutes (up a steep hill!!) you get to the centre of Lloret which was for us, brilliant! There is a good nightlife here and lots of lucky lucky men but if you prefer the more relaxing bars your best staying next to the hotel! The shopping in Lloret's centre was amazing too! One last point i'd like to make is the availablity of sun loungers and space around the pool during the day!! Honestly we thought we'd have to be up at the crack of dawn to claim a lounger with the amount of people the hotel accomodates however there was always plenty of sunlounges/tables/chairs available which we were pleasanly suprised at considering there is about 700 rooms to this hotel!! So to sum our stay up would be to say it was absolutley perfect! Plently of food, plently of drinks, fantastic location, basic rooms but clean and all you needed, and fantastic surroundings! PERFECT!! So to all those that complain about this hotel....... Pants to you!!! : )
