we arrived in llorett de mar on the 3rd via bus, at the bus station we asked the way to our hotel and the ladys first question was " have you got a lot of luggage its a long walk" the hotel from the main bus station is a 25 minute walk. Taxi cost us £8 euros. We got to reception and the lady was on the phone, so we waited. She checked us in and said she needed 50 euros deposit. then gave us our room number and tv remote. We got to the room which was lovely and spacious great veiw of the sea and well equipt. The downfalls of this hotel are the paper thin walls... kids next door were screaming and running around early morning which woke us up, the lady next door seemed to constantly walk around in heels the last night we was there we was rudely awaked by her having sex so loud we could still hear her as we stood at the bus stop at the bottom of the road this was 6am!! We was poorly informed by the receptionist about bus's and our tv. The lady in the mini market next door is an absolute gem, she told us about the bus that runs every hour and half only cost 1.40 euros and also about our tv - you can get the channels in english by pressing the audio button on the remote and selecting UND. We wont be returning, its to far from town especially if your self catering with food shopping the walk is a killer.

my fiancé and I stayed at the apartments on a five day get away. we were a bit worried about reading previous reviews but as soon as we arrived the worries disappeared. There is no steep hill, just a slight slope just before the apartments. Staff were friendly, and made you feel welcome. (even if u do make one fall and cut their arm after a nite out, sorry!)Apartment was spacious and we had a wonderful view of the sea. Although about 20min from town we enjoyed the walk in the nice weather. Lovely pool area, imagine it gets busy in height of summer time. We ate breakfast and lunch , which were both very tasty and plentiful as well as reasonably priced. Planning on coming for 3 weeks in September ... Warn the security haha. Thank u for a wonderful stay!!

Room Tip: Ask for main block apartment

We arrived at Els Llorers last friday for a week. In terms of location, its great for those wanting some peace and quiet and theres a beautiful view of the sea from its elevated position. As other reviews say, it is up a rather steep hill but you couldnt get the lovely views any other way, and to be honest, unless you're desperately unfit/old/disabled, whats wrong with a bit of exercise!? Having said that, we hired a car which was a great move as it is quite a way away from anything. We basically used the hotel as a base and did a lot of travelling around.
The room and facilites were basic, but again, for the price you cant really complain. We were keen to 'self cater' rather than eat out and the kitchen facilities were a little challenging with no oven or grill, but again we got by. Our kitchen area looked to have been recently refurbished which was nice, but the lack of a chopping board meant that we had to chop things directly on the new work surface. Not sure it'll stay looking new for long! Other things to note is that they do not provide any cleaning cloths/washing up liquid/tea towels etc so you'll need to buy them. Also, theres no toaster or kettle and limited other cooking implements.
The room itself was a good size and the furniture/decor looked new. There is a small tv (no english speaking channels) and we had a good sized balcony with lovely views of the sea.
The room wasn't cleaned at all whilst we were there and we only got clean towels once. The room wasn't spotlessly clean from the beginning - the floors were gritty and dusty, but there was a sweeping brush and mop so we gave it the once over.
The bedroom was ok but we had seperate beds. It may be that the sofa in the living area folded out into a double but we didn't try. The beds were really comfy and the sheets clean. The only complaint I could have in this area was that blankets in the cupboard were filthy. We used them as the weather was cold and theres no heating, and soon realised that they smelt of other peoples sweaty bodies, had hairs on them and one had a dubious looking stain on it! We did complain about this and were given clean ones. That really was the low point, as after that I was wondering what else might not be clean.
The pool area is nice and the bar was good. We only ate there once and it was nice. Our room was directly above the bar and to be fair, they keep noise to a minimum. The bar can get a bit smokey but thats Spain for you. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The bar staff were especially nice.
To summarise, its a basic hotel with basic facilities. If you're resourceful and not too fussy you'll love it. If you're after luxury then it's not for you. On the whole, its a good example of 'you get what you pay for' and I'd go again.

Room Tip: Ask for the main block with a sea view - a high floor. 1st floor rooms have been refurbished, not sure about the others?
