“Adequate rooms but poor half board menu”
Reviewed 21 December 2012

The hotel, which is obviously favoured by Russian clients, is well situated on the sea front, but not all the rooms face the sea - mine faced a concrete wall! The bedrooms are clean and adequately furnished with comfortable beds. The bathroom was good and well equipped. The wifi at 5 euros a day is expensive - surely this should be free.
The breakfast doesn't start until 8 am, which is far too late for business travellers like me, so I didn't have time for this. The evening meal on the half board option has very little choice and one of the three main courses was not available. The remainder of the menu looked so boring that I went to another restaurant in town, the Can Tarradas, that was excellent (see separate review).

Room Tip: Make sure that you have a sea view. Don't bother with the half board option.

J have been at the hotel with my daughter this November. We are from Ukraine and I have also the hotel in Kiev. I can not say anything bad about the hotel in general but against about people who work at the reception yes!!!!! Especiallment Anastasia- the person that I had the unfortunately ask the help. When my daughter was sick for the evening I went down to ask for a termomentre and she told me that there is no. After I request to help contact our insured and you know the answer received? THIS IS NOT MY PROBLEM!People like this should not work at the reception!

Best location in town. Clean. Nice staff. Recommendable. The breakfast is absolutely marvellous, and I can recommend the hotel to everybody. Be sure to get a room with sea view. Otherwise you'll probably look into a concrete wall for the whole of your vacation.

I stayed there with my daughter which is 5 months old and my sister. There are lots of stairs everywhere so to go to the reception when you arrive you have to either go downstairs or go through the bar but you also have stairs which it was a bit of a nightmare every time we wanted to go out or we came back.
I have to say the staff in the bar they always offered to help whatever I needed.
When you arrive at the reception smells of cheap Air-freshener, not very pleasant.
We booked a junior suite which I would say it was more a standard room. I wouldn't say it was exactly clean and the tv aerial socket was missing. The hotel was in general very tired and in need of some TLC.
Breakfast was fine, no complains.
And the charges for the WIFi are ridiculous.
Would I recommend it? NO

The Hotel is on the sea side, which is great and also people who wants to buy some souveniers or do small shopping, it is a very good choice, because there is shops of different kind right behind the hotel. Food was tasty and lots of health food. Rooms were clean. We did not have a seaview, but we had a very calm room. Bathroom was very good. Service was good and staff was helpful. The only bad point - there are stairs at the entrance of the hotel which is not good for baggage. You need to take your baggage and to lift it. However, If I go back to Lloret de Mar, I would stay there again.

Ive just come back from staying at the Marsol for 7 nights. The hotel its self is very clean with good food. I paid extra for a sea view and balcony, the balcony was a joke it was roughly 3ft 6ins wide just enough room for a small plastic table a 2 chairs, every time you wanted to sit on the balcony you had to keep moving the table to sit down, and im only small, but it could of been worse as if you dont pay for a seaview all you get is a small window overlooking the hotel next door. The big draw back of having a seaview was the noise of the traffic also at 6.30am every morning the street cleaners would go up and down the road/ promenade washing the streets which is good to see but very noisy and a couple of tmes a week the bin men came at 12.30 am to empty all the rubbish bins (nightmare for noise)What i did notice in this hotel they dont seem to cater for the english in fact i didnt hear one english person in the hotel the 7 days we were there and certain staff bent over backwards for the french and germans and didnt speak to us which is a shame really. The food was good but im afraid it was always cold. Lorett itself is a very clean place indeed and in high season it must be a youngsters paradise.

Room Tip: If you have a room at the front you have a lot of noise, but at the back of the hotel you have a chu...

What you need when you go for a beach holiday "IS" a balcony. To chill out with a glass of Rioja or Sangria...or just to enjoy the moment.
Shame. Big, big minus for hotel.
But again, if you pay extra, you can find yourself in one of those beautiful rooms.
Second big disappointment was wi-fi charge!!! How difficult is to add 15 Euros on top of the booking and then say to guests "Yes, internet is free!"
And everyone is happy.
I felt cheated. Ofcourse, I did not pay them. You get it for free elswhere.
Apart from that, Hotel Marsol is a great place. Some people might wrote that food was bad, hotel dirty etc.
Hotel is very clean. And most important of all, food was great. Surprisingly great. Especially dinner. Yes, breakfast is always the same but then you can be there 2 weeks and have different breakfast each day.
Most of the guests are Russians. Maybe that is why there are no problems at all. Very quiet, no noise...great for relaxing time.
Shame about those balconies.

Room Tip: You might want to avoid 1st floor rooms.
