Impressed with hotel on first arrival but then quickly learned that the prices of everything were on the expensive side, pool was very good and our young son enjoyed his time there discipline at the pool though was lacking as there was people jumping , running and doing dangerous stuff which could have injured themselves or others, needs a few basic rules there in my opinion. Sunbeds are quickly taken before breakfast by the laying down of towels although there are signs up in every language saying this is not allowed, other reviews and comments state that the staff intervene and remove these towels if they see other guests doing it, never seen this happen, personally I would just remove the towels and put them on a nearby chair and let the staff sort it out after.
If you want a wifi service at the hotel pool then go to the hotel across the road Guitart and pay them 20 euros for the week which is better than the 10 euros you will need to pay to get unlimited download from this hotel where the wifi is no better than the free one. THis is an easy fix for this hotel to sort out why not use the money people are paying for wifi to invest in a better system than they currently have. wifi in the rest of the hotel hit and miss even in their so called wifi hotspot. You can charge more for decent wifi see above!!
Sleep is a commodity you can get in the afternoon as the nighttime is when you will not get any sleep due to rowdy german kids, families and anyone else that thinks it's acceptable to be shouting banging doors slamming doors, running down corridors and using the fire escape as a means of entering the floor and acting like complete idiots in the middle of the night. THis hotel knows this is an issue but does very little to combat it apart from saying you can phone reception which is okay if you can pinpoint 1 individual but when multiple people are acting like idiots is difficult to control and you quickly lose interest in phoning reception about it.
Food was okay on average for what you pay but after a fortnight you'll be glad your not eating there anymore, I found it bland at best with very little flavour and can get monotonous quite quickly. At dinner the trucks roll down to buy pricey bottles of soft drinks so expect of pay close to 8 euros for 3 bottles of pop. Staff also reach over you to take away dirty plates which can be quite annoying for dining etiquette before you have finished your meal. I think staff should ask if they can take away your plates and get you to hand them over to them rather than reach across you.
Staff on the whole were quite good though special mention to Enric who runs the restaurant extremely well and is always on the ball you have a problem there speak to him.
Room itself was good and cleanliness was excellent this was the best part.
Entertainment was dire nothing for kids apart from Saturday night where the magician show is on this needs to be fixed as entertainment is needed more. I have outlined the entertainment as per below
Sat - Magician (good for kids)
Fri - Oriental dancing (good for dads) unsuitable family entertainment although does start slightly later.
Weds - flamenco dancing - will bore anyone who isn't spanish or older within about 5 mins
Tues & Thurs - Chill out night where they convert poolside to a comfy relaxing environment and play either terrible music or get a local artist that can't sing to torture your ear drums. All of this is drowned out by the party in the hotel opposite.
Sun - Latin dancing night - it's okay for the once i seen it but not that entertaining although they do involve the kids.
Would never come here again as too many things niggled,
Fridge 20 euros, safe 19 euros , drinks over the top prices 3.70 for a pint of draught San Miguel
