“Great lunch, good service”
Reviewed 3 March 2013 via mobile

Had a spot of lunch here today and enjoyed it. Welcoming staff, prompt service and the food was perfectly decent. My wife had a small version of their Sunday lunch and it was plenty big enough. I had the chilli, and whilst it wasn't quite as hot as implied, it was very good.

Nice drop of ale to wash it all down and then a stroll on Croyde beach.

If I had to find a fault it was that one or two things on the menu were stupidly expensive. £7.15 for a jacket spud and cheese is beyond a joke. Most things seemed a fair price though.

Overall, worth a visit for sure.

“Same as billy buds”
Reviewed 3 March 2013

It's ok if you are really Hungary but is the same company as the pub next door, so it's a bit bland! Nice to sit in, A few nights but gets boring, good for meeting fellow surfers and cool dudes.

“Little Gem in a beautiful part of North Devon”
Reviewed 28 February 2013

Over the past 10 years we have stayed in Croyde at least one week every year as it is absolutely stunning for the surfing and coastal walks.
Every year we visit the Thatch and we have never been disappointed in the service and quality of their food. The past few years we have booked a table on the journey down as, the only downside is, they do get pretty busy, even in October.
After the meal there is a friendly old style pub with a good old style atmosphere.
The place is a must !!

“Nice Family Friendly Pub Restaurant”

Good Food, relaxed atmosphere. Accommodating for Children. Great British Pub Restaurant. Good Wholesome Portions. Staff maybe a bit too laid back... wouldn't go for a 'special' meal
