Description: The Manor House Inn sits in the pretty village of Croyde with glorious sandy beaches and delightful countryside. The original pub in Croyde is a 16th century former coaching inn, where the old coach house still stands. There is a large restaurant & conservatory overlooking the courtyard and large children's play area. The bar is spacious and in character with the building, where there is a wide range of local ales, ciders and beers along with an extensive wine list. A freshly prepared, locally sourced menu & specials board is available every day, from local fish, meats & vegetables to simple sandwiches. There is also a comprehensive children's menu. We show all major sporting events via Sky &BT Sport on our large screens as well as regular live music, pool table, darts and skittles. You can be sure of a warm welcome at The Manor House Inn - just as it should be!!!

Family meal saturday night. Friendly staff, booked a table so no waiting. We were advised by staff there would be a delay with orders. That said wait wasnt bad at all. Only critique, salad was exactly that , bag of mixed leaves no dressing. Fish and chips was amazing nice fresh crispy fish

My husband and i have just returned from a weeks holiday in croyde and on our last night we decided to visit the manor house inn for a meal ,we had previously been for a beverage and thought the menu looked good,we booked for a friday night at 7.30,when we arrived it was packed so we knew there would be a wait,we waited 45 mins for our starter,i had mushrooms and hubby had mussels they were great,we waited a further 25 mins for our main, hubby had seabass which was bordering on burnt ,i had pork belly which was awful.I aint no chef but it should have crackling on the outside and soft tender meat but it was tough pork floating in awful gravy with the worst mash pots i have ever had, creamy mash my eye,we complained and were offered a free pud but by that time just wanted to leave.

We arrived at the pub at 8pm and sat down in the restaurant at 8.10pm with drinks we got from the bar. It took staff until 8.55pm to take our order which consisted of starters and mains. The starters came out at 9.35pm and consisted of mussels that weren't open so couldn't be eaten and two pate's that were small to say the least. The mains then came out at 10.0pm. One of them was luke warm and to be fair the others were acceptable but nothing to write home about.

All that said the worst part of the all of this was the service!. Not one apology for the late arrival of the food and the food was served with about as much enthusiasm as some one feeding and unloved dog!.

Our bill came to over £130 and after some negotiating with the manager she agreed to reduce the bill to just under £100.

Finally and this is something i hope the management consider: the restaurant is packed with too many tables and not enough staff to wait on them. Please consider taking a few tables out. I know its summer and you want to fill your pub but you will never fill them with service like this.

The food and service were pretty good and there was a big play area for younger children. Avoid Wednesday night on a hot day unless you want the Carvery.

Had our first ever meal here last night, one of many in the future I hope. Extensive menu, great home cooked food and the all the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Altogether a relaxed and happy environment topped off with great food.
