Cherry Tree Farm Campsite

....After what should have been a 3 night stay at cherry tree farm, but we chickened out after one night due to hurricane Bertha. But the one night we did stay was lovely, perfectly situated by the sea we will be visiting this campsite again hopefully when there's no hurricanes forecast. Plenty of showers and toilets, all clean and never ran out of loo roll.
The site slopes a bit but it's not too bad. Next time I would ask for a spot next to a hedge as we were in the middle of the field and felt slightly exposed but that's just our personal preference. Also be aware that there is a food van there on a Friday evening, we didn't know this and it doesn't seem to be advertised anywhere, which is a shame because it looked lovely but we'd already bought food that needed to be eaten so we missed out.

Can't wait to visit again, for a proper holiday next time!

Stayed here for 3 nights (the campsite has a 3 night minimum) and would really recommend it. Pitches are spacious and it's pretty quiet. The staff are really helpful and friendly and there are plenty of toilets and hot showers so we never had to queue even at peak times. It is about a 5 min walk to the beach and the local supermarket which sells all the essentials. Croyde is within walking distance and although it's pretty small there is still a choice of places to eat and drink. We had a lovely time and couldn't fault Cherry Tree we'll definitely be back!

Stayed for three nights in July 14 just before the majority of schools broke up for summer.

The site itself is large and felt spacious but was fairly empty. There is a barrier to the site which they close at 11pm perfect for stopping late cars waking you up.

Many of the pitches slope down and I found the ground under our pitch a little stony but otherwise ok. The grass is kept in good order and is cut often.

Facilities were ok, they did get somewhat dirty during the day and paper towels in the men's toilets were empty for about two days or perhaps it was just co incidence. Also because the toilets were open all night with lights on they attracted lots and lots of moths, flys and other insects which all go to make the place feel a bit worse than it was. Having closing doors or auto lights might help.

There is a rinse for wetsuits and a good number of showers although I suspect when it's really busy you may be queuing. Same for washing up facilities.

Personally I don't want wifi when camping as others have suggested but my only suggestion would be too lay a few more fresh water taps to avoid a lengthy hike to the nearest one. Staff I found were great, really helpful. I like the freezer block swap which meant I could keep my coolbox cool for a small charitable donation and the walk to the beach was short and manageable.

Overall a nice campsite which I'm told is only open for a few weeks of the year. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the site for five nights last week and were so impressed we are coming back as soon as we can!

The showers were clean and hot, the toilets plentiful, well lit and always full of toilet paper, even at 3am. The staff were brilliant, always around to help and give advice about things to do. They even jump started my car when i got a flat! They organise the campsite according to groups so all the families were grouped together etc. It worked really well as we weren't placed right next to lots of children but likewise the children seemed to make friends easily and always be playing games together. The camaraderie atmosphere was apparent even in the drizzle.

The whole site is in a great location and well maintained. The hiring of ice packs i was particularly grateful for and liked the charity donation for refreezing.

All in all i have to say that i absolutely loved my time there and can't wait to return.

Room Tip: They organise the site according to the age of the people in your group; so if a family and a couple...

Stayed only for one night during a very wet period. Staff were extremely helpful finding us a great spot to stay for which we were very grateful. We have stayed in other sites in Croyde, but none were this helpful.

Cherry Tree Farm is a relaxed site in a great location. In our experience (4 weekends this year) the staff are always friendly and happy. There are several fields allowing for couples, families and groups to all be separated so each can enjoy their own holiday. It is only 5 minutes walk to a lovely beach and the same to Croyde itself. The showers and toilets are 'querky' and there are plenty of them. They could be cleaned more often and more thoroughly which doesn't bother us but some may be put off by them, especially for the price. Otherwise a superb site and we will be back when they re-open next year.

Have just returned from our first ever stay in Croyde Bay and we certainly chose a great camp site. Beautiful views and a lovely, laid back atmosphere. Booking on the phone was very helpful and friendly too.

Plenty of toilets and showers. Site was always clean and well maintained. Surf hire on site is excellent with really friendly staff.

Walk to beach and pubs is ten minutes max - and that's with two teenagers in tow. We will definitely return.

Only slight negative was the attitude of one member of staff - assertive to the point of being rude - shame because it doesn't fit the setting at all.
