“A fantastic getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2011

As my partner 's favourite place is Croyde, Devon we decided to have a few days away in February. We searched on the internet and came across a lovely bed and breakfast. The cottage is situated on a farm and is very picturesque. The B&B was in the most perfect location as it was near the local village and beautiful walks. We had both never stayed on a farm before, we decided that it looked like an idealic getaway to relax from our busy every day life of living in a city. On arrival Gwen, John and Sally 's hospitality was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble, they all made us feel like part of the family and very at home.

Our stay at Combas Farm was fantastic and of a very high standard, although we do not want to share this beautiful place with everyone we would recommend it to family and friends and anyone else that wanted somewhere out of this world to stay. Everyone there was so friendly, and Gwen the breakfast was very appetizing. The cottage is set on a beautiful farm. We could not' have asked for a more beautiful place to stay, we just did not want to go home.

Thank you again to Gwen, John and Sally we will see you soon.

This has been the fifth time we have stayed at combas farm and it just gets better and better each time. The front of the house is picture post card. Inside it is warm and cozy. We had two nights here, and it is within easy walking distance of croyde. Putsburough is five mins in the car. For people who enjoy the outdoors this is the perfect place. The breakfasts are great and really set you up for the day. Gwen and John could not make you feel more welcome. The garden is gorgeous, and sitting outside is blissful. You can hear all birds and sheep and you feel like you are in the middle of no where. I really can't recommend this place more. It's amazing!

Could not fault this special place, we love Combas Fam.
It was our first night away from our 18 month old daughter celebrating my partners birthday. The natural warmth and hospitality from Gwen was inviting from the moment we arrived, it was like home from home.
Very cosy room, even had an electric blanket put on pre our arrival!
Gwen recommended the most fantastic local pub, The Rock, best service, atmosphere and food we have ever had in a pub!
Wellies and torches on hand to get us there and back.
Equally lovely morning with Gwens legendary cooked breakfast (i had read on these reviews) and lived up to her reputation, was brilliant.
Really cool to meet the farmer John and see him tend to the lambs while we were able to walk across their fields to enjoy breathtaking views of Croyde Bay and Puts...
perfect for our weekend surfing. This real mc coy place and still a working farm, are hard to come across these days, so will be recommending to all my friends, family, and anyone reading these reviews, even though I wish I could keep this secret spot to ourselves!

Thanks Gwen and John we look forward to a lifetime of stays at Combas farm!

Really enjoyed our stay, the only problem being it wasnt long enough! Great hospitality , cosy bedroom with a peacfull nights rest. Ideally located for walks and nearby beaches and towns. We will definately recommend this place and hope to visit again.

Good location for walking break in Croyde area. Very hospitable. Bedrooms were a bit on small side but all in all a good choice.

We stayed here recently due to attending a Wedding a couple of miles down the road. Remarkably the Sat Nav managed to take us to the door of Combas Farm without wanting to take us off the edge of the surrounding cliffs on the route up to the Farm.

The welcome that we received was very good and the outlook from our bedroom window was picture postcard with only sheep as potential nosey neighbours. Some reviews may say that the rooms are very dated, and as a very young at heart pair of thirty somethings I could not agree less....The rooms are quite clearly well looked after and the decor although not my taste is exactly what I would expect from a Traditional Farmhouse B&B that has quite clearly been the pride and joy of the owners for some years now. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was more than adequate.

The breakfast that we had the next morning was extremely good and was, I'm guessing fresh local produce, as it tasted fantastic. Nice little touches with homemade yoghurt available and extra toast offered.

The only issue that we had, and this was NO fault at all of the B&B, was getting a taxi the next day to take me back to the wedding venue to pick up my car, so bare this in mind. In fact the owners helped out no end with our problem and I would just like to say a personal thankyou for going the extra mile.

All in all an excellent choice of accomodation that would be ideal, not only for one nights stay but also as a base for a longer stay in the area.

Combas Farm is one of those places you’d love to keep secret, but cant help telling everyone you know all about the place.
I’ve been enjoying its relaxing surroundings now for about 10 years, you’d think you’ get bored of the place but you really don’t.
I try to visit at least once a year and each time I return it has something a little different to offer; it’s always as friendly, relaying, and enjoyable as you could possibly imagine. I really couldn’t recommend this Combas Farm highly enough .
