“Not the best, not the worst”
Reviewed 18 January 2013

Stayed for just one night and wouldn't want to stay any longer. Staff were not very friendly from the moment we arrived nor when we had dinner. Not worth the money to upgrade to a king room as I think it was the same room just with a king bed. Rooms are small and not well equipped. Free internet is advertise but does not exist. Sleep was difficult as we had a room closer to the road/round about and the windows and walls are thin. Constant traffic noise (trucks mainly) throughout the night and worse in the early morning. Rooms were reasonably clean.
Lightly in room was strange as there were 6 down lights in a small space that all run of the same switch. TV is high on the wall and difficult to watch unless lying down. No allocated car parks meant we didn't have a car park when we returned in the evening.
Wouldn't return to this motel and wouldn't recommend it.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the road.

We booked the restaurant 'mystique' and decided to stay on sight. We negotiated a great deal as a walk-in and because we had booked the restaurant, we were upgraded to a king-bed room. The room had been nicely renovated, better on the inside than the exterior might suggest. Whilst not claiming to have views, the share balcony did look onto the bay, through the trees.
The restaurant is definitely worth eating at (see separate review), not what you'd expect from the outside.

Room Tip: Upstairs balcony room gives has nice ambience and you can sit outside with a sort of view

We slept very well in this motel. Eden itself provides great beaches nearby and for two nights this motel was fine.
The Internet booking said that WIFI was free but it wasn't which isn't unusual unfortunately.
But the room was clean and comfortable

Room Tip: The rooms looked identical

I stayed here for one night recently over the extremely busy Christmas/New Year period. As this time of year can be very difficult to get accommodation close to the date along the coast, I was very lucky to get a room when I called to book the morning of my arrival.

The location of the motel is excellent. It is right at the bottom of the main street which makes it convenient for walking into town for dinner. There is also a supermarket across the road which is very handy if you want to be able to grab a few things to self cater.

The room was extremely clean and neat with plenty of room. The decor was modern and probably recently updated. The bathroom was a tad small but very functional. The shower head was quite low on the wall which was a bit of a detraction but it still provided a lovely shower nonetheless.

The bed in my room was a true king size and quite comfortable. The room also was equipped with some basic kitchen appliances such as a bar fridge, toaster, kettle and tea cups, saucers and glasses so if you wanted to have some basic catering for breakfast, it was very easy to do so.

I would also praise the owners/managers for their friendliness during the extreme peak season - they were lovely.

The only downside to my stay was that it was a little bit noisy; however, I have put this down to the fact that it was a full house the night I stayed and the noise level was not so bad as to keep me awake.

Overall, a lovely little place to stay at a good price.

Stayed in a Queen standard room for 2 nights. The room was extremely small and extremely out of date, although it was pretty clean...... We found the rooms had paper thin walls and had to listen to the "Neighbours" every movement throughout the night as well as a neighbouring dog that insisted on barking through the wee hours of the morning. The bed was not comfortable - slept on the cords of the electric blanket with poor quality pillows. I would not recommend - we booked here as nothing else was available over the Easter weekend - wouldn't return here........ The only thing we found positive here was the central location - within walking distance of everything in Eden - very central.

Room Tip: Don't bother

Stayed here on our way to Melbourne from Sydney for one night. The hosts were friendly and reminded us of the cast of faulty towers (in a positive way!). They made us laugh several times with their unintentional antics. Room was old fashioned and dated but had everything one would need. Pity about the fleas in the bed, could hardly sleep because of the itching. Woke up covered in flea bites. Looked under the mattress and saw a couple of dead fleas. The next morning the owner was apologetic and said they'd just had motel flea treated. We had ordered a room service breakfast for 7.30am the next day as we wanted to set off reasonably early for our long drive. By 7.30am we were packed, ready to go, just needed to have breakfast. By 8am we were still waiting. Couldn't get hold of reception via the phone. Walked to reception and waited for a while before owner came out (still in her pyjamas) and asked when we would be getting our breakfast (by then it was 8.30am). They had completely forgotten that we had ordered breakfast and hadn't got anything ready for us the night before (as they usually do apparently), so we told them that we would get breakfast elsewhere, which was a shame as we couldn't even have a cuppa tea before we left (no milk in room). Owner apologetic again. Friendly owners whose antics made the stay better, but probably wouldn't stay here again by choice.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the middle of the u-shaped motel to avoid having noisy inconsiderate people walking...

We stopped here en route to Sydney from Melbourne for one night. We hadn't booked as we weren't sure how far we wanted to go before stopping but we got to Eden and although the town isn't very attractive the setting is very pretty.
Our room was fairly dated, quite basic and relatively small however it was clean and had eveything we needed for a one night stopover. We both had a good nights sleep so left happy. I'm not sure I would want to stay in the room we had for more than a night or two but we would happily stay again if we ever go the same way and need to stay somewhere in the same area.
