Eons have passed since this motel was built. Every thing has now passed its use by date. Its on the side of the hyway and the traffic may as well be driving through the room. The hair dryer shows signs of melting and has not been electrically safety tagged.
The shower is murderious.... The shower water temperature is a random affair and not associated with the positions of the taps. It has some sensor that detects when you have shampoo in your hair and then sends a spurt od boiling hot water to drive you out of the shower.
All this makes for an "Interesting " stay.... what make it unacceptable is the price. This is a $80 motel room at best but the owners chose to jack it up to $140 because it was Christmas/New Year.
Never again......................

Strangely homely in a shabby, sea chic type of way. Spectacular views from every room across the bay.
Noisy trucks stopped at night so not so bad.
Huge and friendly dog Maggie a cute protector of the carpark!

Called into here for a night whilst heading south. Owner very friendly. Stayed in one of the older units which at $64 seemed good value. Great views of Two Fold Bay. Bathroom was very small and water temperature was intermittent.

The first impression of this property smacked us in the ears before we had even checked in. Thundering trucks rumble down the hill, hitting their air brakes, day and night just 20 or so metres from the rooms. Fortunately the air brakes stopped after dark and the frequency reduced. Ear plugs helped. The next interesting experience of the property was the rather eccentric owner introducing his (admittedly) beautiful dog as his 'fiance'. I know he lives on the property alone, but really???
We had booked a wotif hot deal off season and were the properties only guests. The value was, on the face of it, quite good - $100 a night off the peak price for a King room. The room was extremely spacious, the bed comfy and level of cleanliness adequate, but let down by dust and cobwebs which suggested poor attention to detail. What couldn't be beaten was the (shared) balcony with breathtaking views of Twofold Bay. The stillness was broken only by the beautiful and calming birdsong (except of course for when it was shattered by thundering trucks).

The deal included breakfast and, on arrival in our room we were greeted by a bowl of small cereal packets, condiments, bread, milk, and juice. Quite generous supplies really, and all good quality products. We also found two very large glass bowls, a tea towell, a plastic tub, no sink and no dishwashing liquid to suggest that we could or should be washing our own utensils. When the room was serviced after our first night (and I use the term 'serviced' reluctantly) we received no fresh towells, the dirty dishes were left where they were on the table and the bed was made very roughly. This, however, was better than what greeted us on our return on day two. We came back to find the room had not been serviced at all. I understand that, being the off-season, the owner may have been reluctant to call staff in for one room, however, he stated he had been busy on the phone all day (from 9.30 - 5.30???) and had not got to our room. He gladly provided towells, but was quizzical when asked for fresh crockery and cutlery. I didn't push it.
If all of this was, however, not up to scratch, it was not unbearable. What WAS unbearable was the shower. Every shower was an exercise in jumping in and out of the water flow dodging a scalding or having our butts frozen. Our efforts to solve this were endless throughout our stay but perhaps the moaning and shuddering of the water pipes that broke the night silence should have given us a hint.
Was it the worst experience I've ever had... not by a long shot. Would I stay again? Not on your life. This disappoints me because the number of properties who go to the effort of noting on wotif that they are Gay Friendly are few and far between and we actively seek them out to support them. This property will, however, be an exception when we venture this way again

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground level at the bottom end of the property are possibly more shielded from the road...

The rooms are nothing special and frankly if it wasn't for jet lag we would have never stopped here. I'm glad we did as the slow pace town and great views of the bay were exactly what we needed to recuperate. It may say Econo Lodge, but pay no mind if ocean views are what you're after. Rent with confidence as the older gentleman at the front desk will take care of any requests you may have.

we turned up without a booking and they were very helpful to assist us with a room. they gave us a family room that had a beautiful view of the bay and it was only $90 which i thought was very good considering the time of year (tourist time) and with no booking. the gentleman at reception was very friendly we had a good chat with him.
the room was clean and have a great sleep! no complaints here.

We booked this motel because it was the only available accommodation in Eden. I even do not know why I choose Eden in the first place. Somehow I got the idea that it had a nice and calm beach. The motel was in the outskirts of the town, it had a nice view over tha bay and the rooms were spacious and there was a nice garden with a pool around the motel - these were the pros.
Now the cons- everything in the motel seemed to fall apart. First the motel sign had only 3 letters left OTE... There was a restaurant sign - but no restaurant it seemed that it had not worked for years ---why the sign...? When we checked in the room was not properly cleaned the garbage from previous customer was not taken away. The shower curtain in the bathroom was removed (it seemed that it was broken). no soap was provided. The towels were not changed and the floors were not cleaned only beds were done during our stay. The owner of the motel a greek guy was more interested in politics and had no time to look after the motel. No internet and only 2 channels on TV worked. The price 180 AUD per night was enormous for such a 30 USD motel!!!Thank god we only stayed for 2 nights. There were no proper restaurants around in the town so we had to drive to Merimbula that was 25 km from Eden. Most probably we would had been better off staying in Merimbula instead. The only calm beach was 5-10 km away from Eden where we could swim. Stay away from Eden it is not worth..
