“Super views, absolute beach access”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed in 5a, one of the new cabins which had a balcony overlooking a section of grass, beyond which is sand and visible waves breaking. Particularly fine in the morning and great for beach access throughout the day, being able to return and shower. So close. Facilities inside are a little odd. Queen bed is comfortable and shower is walk-in, spacious, good water pressure. But basin is tiny (and you need to use it to wash dishes as well (or go to amenities block where there is no immediate hot water). Furniture is wooden and chunky, in good order but a basin wouldn't go astray and there is no table suitable for dining inside or on the balcony. A round low coffee table tends to just get in the way - there is very limited storage for luggage and the outdoor low table is precarious for cups or glasses. Managers Noddy and Caryn are friendly and available. Noddy offered two plastic containers to stack up to table height which was something but owners should rectify this oversight. Also other basics expected are lacking like bedside lamps (you have to turn lights off at door), a soap dish in the shower (soap with one hand or pick it up from the cubicle floor) and a spare blanket (it was a bit cool at night). Noisewise if you have no neighbours, it is perfect. If you do, it depends on your neignbours - there is a shared wall and soundproofing is not flash. That said, my wife and I had a good time and it is worth it for the sensational beach access and views. Other things can be fixed. Even though the park seemed pretty full, there was a relaxed and friendly vibe at all times.

We stayed two nights in a hillside tent complete with tiled full bathroom, kitchen facilities and split system ac. As we had a tent that was higher up on the hill we could sit on our balcony and watch the water. All in all a very pleasant and effortless camping trip!

Stayed 2 jights in breaker chalet, which is tent styled accommodation on high stumps, and includes full bathroom, kitchenette, tv, balcony with bbq and daybed, and just metres from the beach. The honeymoon chalet and breaker 4 are the pick of them, with superb views of the ocean. The park has had a lot of work done, and is much more modern than it has been before. I can't vouch for the caravan park side of things, but the chalets are definitely a treat, camping with all the xomforts of home, right on the beach. Relaxing and fun

Have stayed here twice now in our caravan. On our first visit we had a beautiful water view powered site and it was fantastic. Now all water views have been lost due to a row of cabins being build right accross the front of the park. While this is good if you are vstaying in a cabin it has totally killed the great water view aspect of the park. Despite what the owners may say business is very good in this park and no sooner does a site become empty and a new caravan fills it again. It is just such a shame that the people who stay in these parks in caravans have once again lost out to owners who have cabin fever. On this occasion they have killed the ambience of their park and I dare say it is all in the name of money. We won't be back again.

During our stay here we have been stuffed around by management constantly. Their incompetence and rudeness has been absolutely horrific. On top of the terrible "hospitality" the facilities here are tired and highly unhygienic. We caught boils whilst we were here... One day we put a tooth paste mark on the shower ecubicle wall to see if it was cleaned. It was there for the 3 weeks we stayed & is most likely still there. Totally dissatisfied. Cannot fathom how you can charge so much per site & not even clean the ablutions..,,,also the laundry is very small with many machines not functioning properly

Hi Outbackbeaverhousen,

My name is Angela Murphy and I am one of the owners of this Park. My managers, Noddy & Caryn, run the Park in our absence.

Based on details you mention in your review, I believe that you have mistakenly reviewed our Park and that you actually stayed some-where else.

To address your issues directly:

Unhygienic facilities: Are you referring to the amenities block or kitchen? Our amenities have a thorough clean once a day, on top of this they are checked and cleaned many times throughout the day and are completely gurney-ed from top to bottom once a week. Our camp kitchen is also cleaned completely a few times a day and I have personally never seen it in any state but immaculate.

Many machines not working in laundry: Yes, our laundry is small, but we only have one machine available to guests and this machine has always worked perfectly.

Incompetent and rude managers: After 12 months and hundreds & hundreds of guests we have never had one complaint like this about our managers. Noddy & Caryn are 100% committed to customer service, completely competent and we are all quite shocked that anyone would write this about them. Please read through our reviews about these new managers and you will get a true picture of what they are like.

I invite you to contact me directly at ange@agneswaterbeach.com.au to clear this matter up. As you can imagine, a review like this unnecessarily damages our reputation and hurts our town.

Kind regards,
Angela Murphy

Lovely park. However, new management may need to show discretion on site placement. We had noisy caravan tourists one night with music competitions followed by some car campers located on a powered caravan site and alcohol drinking from 10am, not requiring power or water connections. Seemed odd to have two cars (rules say one car per site) with a tarp, early morning drinking and no power site expectation in amongst the vans rather than non powered camping site of rejection. New Managers were not that concerned at our lack of sleep or comfort. Some vans moved on. Maybe a one off. Beach beautiful. No pool but a dream beach and excellent on site cafe.

Room Tip: Be specific with managers on your holiday experience experience expectation.

Hi BuderimDiner,

Thank you for your review, I am very sorry your stay was not what you hoped for.

We are very careful and respectful to give every paying guest the accommodation that they pay for. This means that a guest in a tent may pay for a powered van site if they wish.

I hope that you enjoy the rest of your time travelling and that we see you again one day.

Kind regards,
Angela Murphy

We stumbled upon this gem of a place by accident and we were so glad we did. We were caravaning and got a site right by the beach. They had excellent bathroom facilities and a cute restaurant by the beach. The tent lodges and cabins were so nice and vozy. The couple handling the registration were so nice to us and gave us a map of the wildlife in the area.Beach has an active lifeguard on duty and great place to surf just steps from this place.Just had a great time there.
