Wow, looking at the glowing reviews we must've picked a bad day! This place looks lovely and charming and after driving around Agnes Water looking for a nice place to have lunch we were in good spirits to have found it. I think it was the cascade of little annoyances that made us leave disappointed. When we ordered drinks we were told they had run out of coke, ginger beer and bottled water. Then when we ordered, they advised a couple of meals were also off the menu (pun intended). Which of course can happen but just give us a heads-up then rather than telling us after taking the time to decide. The food itself was fine albeit small portioned and overpriced. We decided to leave fairly quickly and while at the register we spotted the ice cream display and decided to give it another go. The waitress couldn't find the ice cream spoon at first which was a bit of a mission. We patiently waited while she boiled the kettle to heat up the spoon and then watched her struggle to get through the stuff before she advised us in a low voice that she'd probably recommend we go somewhere else for ice cream as she was unsure as to how long it had been there. We appreciated her candour and asked her how much it would be but unfortunately I had to bust out my iPhone to recalculate it as it didn't add up. The girl was nice enough but clearly wasn't experienced nor real happy to be there. All in all a disappointing experience to be fair.

Would just like to confirm, that the place you visited was not Bustards Restaurant, but indeed, under new ownership. Our good name will not be tarnished by the doings of others. Many others.

We had one breakfast and one lunch at this café and found that the staff was very friendly.
We didn't have to wait for the food to come out, which was well presented and tasty.

Unfortunately the new owners are feeding off our good reputation. We were ripped off by our close by landlords. Glad you enjoyed your experience though.

Stayed at Agnes Waters at the end of a long drive, and was recommended Bustards as a good place for a seafood feed... We were not disappointed.

The Seafood platter for 2 was fantastic. Presented in a different way to the normal battered platter... very healthy and Delicious.
On the platter was some locally caught mackerel tails... these were great, but the chef wasn't completely happy with the way he cooked it, so without prompting, out to the table came a bonus piece of fish.. cooked differently. Absolutely fantastic.

We came in for a coffee, we treated with a friendly smile, some local travel tips and free wifi. A very homily vibe, we instantly felt comfortable and welcomed. Would have loved to try the food, the meals coming out looked and smelt phenomenal. Definitely worth popping in even if it's just to say hi.
