“Amazing Tag along 4WD to Fraser..awful hostel”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

The hostel is so close to the beach...this is its only good feature if it hadn't been for going to Fraser Island i would of check in somewhere else, the rooms have noisy plastic mattresses, dirty concrete floors and showers in a bath tub that is disgusting. On our return from Fraser Island i stayed in a different room this was no better in fact it was worse they were two dead cockroaches on the floor as soon as we walked in. To make matters worse we went on the tour with people staying at dingos the hostel next door, they had paid the same amount of money as we had and had a hostel 100% nicer. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone

This hostel is great value for money and has a good vibe with live music and entertainment during the week. It’s in a perfect spot close to the beach, Greyhound bus stop, shops and restaurants. The nightly dinner is good value for money and I’d recommend staying here.

Room Tip: If you want to sleep in try to stay away from the back where the daily Fraser Island briefings happe...

Me and my friend booked 2 nights at this hostel the night before and after our Fraser Island tour. The first night we stayed in a dirty ten bed dorm, the bathroom was absolutely vile with a ceiling full of mould and a disgusting shower curtain. The second night we stayed in a cockroach infested room admittedly with a much better bathroom. After going to reception to complain we were told that there must be food on the floor, which is highly unlikely as the roaches came from a hole in the wall which we then plugged up with toilet paper.
Admittedly we both realize hostels are the cheap option but are confused that basic accommodation would be so unhygienic and downright awful. However the rest of the staff were incredibly pleasant and the hostel itself is in a great location near the beach.

Staff were great, bar was great especially when the live music was on. Kitchen was very small and not great. Rooms were dirty but adequate we had a private room with ensuite and balcony so it suited us. Would stay again but it isn't luxury.

I stayed at this hostel for two nights, the staff working were very welcoming and happy to answer any questions, the room itself was a decent size and had it's own bathroom, I spotted that the bathroom wasn't the cleanest I've been in, it was fairly dusty and there was hair over the floor. The bar was great, there was happy hour and live music, I really enjoyed my time at this hostel and would go back.

I stayed at this hostel before and after my Fraser island trip as it was included for free with my booking.
The main problem this hostel has is cleanliness. The kitchen is disgusting and consequently I ended up eating most of the time because I did not want to cook in it. The dorm rooms were not much better in the cleanliness stakes either and were fairly basic.
There was a bar and swimming pool attached to the hostel but no other common areas. Internet was fairly expensive but this is the case throughout most of Australia.
I stayed here because it was free with my booking, I would not recommend it to others though.
