I had never heard of a sand blow before so I really didn't know what to expect!

A small walk through the forest and then BOOM its like your all of a sudden in the desert! Ive never experienced anything like it before!!

Theres a fantastic view of the colored cliffs from here. People like to take a boogie board and surf the giant sand dunes.

Not to be missed if you are in Rainbow Beach!!

Only a short, pleasant 10min bush walk from the carpark and an absolute must see for everyone who can make it. Fantastic natural playground for kids too.

I started coming here it 1980 when I was hang gliding. In the summer when the wind is from the NE people still fly from here.(around Xmas time when it is hottest)
The access path is a lot easier now and the blow and it's views is just as beautiful.
Someone mentioned people damaging the dunes by sandboarding. I'd say that the wind does more damage than people. Just don't leave rubbish and bottles (that's the damage that people do).
Exploring around the treeline and ridges will give you some great views in almost every direction.
Enjoy

Take the shortcut. Take your camera. Perfect to watch sunrise too. So pretty, especially if you don't know what to expect. Don't look at photos, just go.
