“Good solid hostel!”

Hostel had everything you could want in it, pool, kitchen, bar, free wifi (from peter pans) close to shops... We only stayed there for 2 nights to do our Fraser Island trip but If your stopping at rainbow beach them I'm sure you could find a lot worse!

Rooms are simple but clean. Good bathrooms even which must have been renovated recently so a huge plus there !

The woman in the reception is not mean as many other have written but simply a little bit stupid and unorganized so don't blame her it's really "not her fault". When we checked in we asked for wifi but was told that there was none. However of course there was a wifi. The woman said it would cost money but of course it was free.

We asked if there was laundry facilities. There were and all we need was a $1 coin. We asked for detergent and were told to go the laundry. Of course we had to come back after reading a note saying that reception was selling it. Quite funny, she gladly sold it to us when we explicitly asked her to.

How can it be so complicated to answer the same questions that every person checking in will have in the wrong way ?! Hilarious.

This by the way is the same person that places all the $20 deposit notes and numerous passports in plain view on the table in reception and walks off for 30 mins !!

Dingo's should write their little rules on a piece of paper and put on the wall in the rooms. That way people could at least read themselves.

There is a note about your alcohol being "confisgated" in every single room though. Funny.

I stood there guarding them until she came back. Also walked into the back rooms to see if someone was there. Take note: numerous guests lost things during our very short stay (mostly laptops).

I knew already by reading reviews so we kept the room locked and valuables in the trunk of our car. Of course nobody at the hostel would warn you about this but then again it's not "their fault".

This is the kind of place were you are handed a plastic plate when checking in so I suppose it doesn't have to be perfect.

The 3-day tour on the island was a lot of fun but the equipment is old and/or broken (cars are very old and rusty and can barely barely handle the easiest of sand, the tents are old and smell urine, the sleeping bags that are supplied also smell so bad that my friend almost puked and I can understand why !).

The sleeping bags are likely folded before they are fully dried so they get moldy. We dried them for the next day and it helped a little bit but of course mold is not killed that easily so as soon as we warmed them up with out body heat they started smelling again.

Make sure you are up for 3 days of bad food and bad sleep. Luckily we stopped by a few small towns so we could buy some food.

Also make sure to bring your own booze. Dingo's tries to sell you overpriced beer if you forget. You will need to drink to forget.

I don't see the point of camping in smelly tents and cooking food with old pots and pans rather than just buying ready made food to be honest. Sure saves a lot of time and the food is actually really good in the small towns that you stop by from time to time. Coffee is great there too. Even has wifi in most !

I suppose we simply did not spend enough money on a serious operator which was a shame because Fraser island itself was beautiful.

I stayed at dingos for 9nights just for a break from brisbane, met loads of cool people especially with most people coming and going on the fraser trip, the location is awesome right on the beach and there's a good coffee shop, but most of all I think the staff made it better for me, I have never been in a place with staff that could be any more helpful!' Will DEFINATELY recommend it and will defo go back !!! :)

There are free delicious pancakes every morning. The kitchen is comfortable to cook in, a lot of dinning tables. The pool area is the perfect place to relaxe in- pingpong table and pooltable. Rooms are clean with bathroom inside. At night the place turnes to a pub. Attached peterpans store so there is a free internet!

Stayed two nights before Fraser Island trip and one night after. We'll run hostel. Pancake breakfast from 7-7.30am is free and delicious. The 6$ meals in the evening are very tasty bad great value. Good bar- provides good entertainment esp the karaoke! Rooms are clean. Free walk and sandboard provided. Rainbow beach is quite small and there isn't a lot to do. Fraser Island trip was excellent!

Had a brilliant time staying at DIngos. They are the most organized hostel we've come across so far on the east coast, and the staff are so, so friendly and helpful! They have a lot going on with tours to fraser coming in and out everyday, but they manage it really well. Really loved the atmosphere here, everyone is up for a good time and its really sociable, the layout of the bar/ pool area seems to bring everyone out of their rooms (plus you can access the wifi for free or jump on a computer in peter pans). The $6 meals go down a treat and there's live entertainment most nights. The tour guides from rainbow tours frequent the bar, and even jump up on the mic to provide some quality live music! Rooms are clean and well looked after. You have to check out pretty early (9.30), but luggage storage is free, and the staff seem to be up for making your life as easy as poss. If you're stopping by rainbow beach, I couldn't recommend a better place to stay!
