“Disappointing”
Reviewed 17 August 2013

We had walked past this good looking lunch spot a few times while visiting the popular Ferry Road shops and markets so thought we would give it a try. it wasnt very busy and we soon found out why. Mediocre table service was exacerbated by staff who just didn't seem to care. When I went to pay the bill, the guy at the register appeared to have not the slightest idea how to process the bill and was surprised when I challenged the very large mistake. Eventually someone else fixed it up but couldn't care that the mistake had happened in the first place! Oh, and the food is very plain and boring despite the above average prices. I wouldn't bother going back when there is so much nearby competition at lower prices with great food and service.

“Fabulous spot hidden in Brickworks”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

This great cafe is hidden inside the Brickworks. At first I was wondering what an odd place but on visiting I can see that people head out for a spot of 'house' shopping like furniture and have a great choice for somewhere to eat.

This cafe is run by the owners of what was once 'Evergreen' also on Gold Coast. Cafe is lovely, big, spacious, not too noisy and comfortable. The food is fabulous, all made on site and fresh. Coffee is fabulous I'm told.

Parking can be hard to get in the centre on any day of the week so be prepared to have a drive around. Street parking is available if it's very busy.

Certainly not to go past and I think much better than Spendelove in the same complex.

“Nice spot for lunch and afternoontea”
Reviewed 19 March 2013

We have dined here for several times now and the location is great. The Briskworks complex is a nice place to shop & browse for quality groceries and to spend relaxing moments for lunch or afternoon tea under the umbrellas in the small courtyard. The waiting staff are friendly although the service can be sporadic, forgotten and slow at times.Last time, two of us ordered tea but only one pot came between them with the waitress saying just ask for another when finished (?). We did, 3 times in fact, and never arrived until the fourth time when two single teapots arrived this time with missing lids. Then different waiting staff keep coming back for dessert order when we already placed the order......(no particular staff is assigned to a table here, perhaps that is the problem?).

The coffee is aromatic, food is clean & tasty, atmosphere busy and pleasant. The menu is varied enough for everyone. We, however, like to see the serving size improved (some main dishes are so small and cake slices so skinny!). Our girl’s lunch may look all about chatting but we do also get hungry and disappointed when dishes arrive in mini portions for the relatively high prices ….. less is not more, more is more.....

“Great flavours!”
Reviewed 5 March 2013

The Brickworks area in Southport , Gold Coast, has grown incredibly. A recent weekday my smallish group of ladies visited for lunch. Amazing- busy and even though a large parking area not many spaces left by lunchtime!
The area has many shops and cafes to choose good- priced merchandise and meals from.
Flavours @ Ferry is a largish indoors / outdoors restaurant. Stylishly modern furniture polished wooden tables - some women's fashions also for sale. . Quite busy for a Tuesday I thought. Their menu is light / interesting with new ideas. I had a delightful grilled chicken salad with thyme / lemon dressing, walnuts and sliced pear added interest. The other 5 ladies had similar 'light' variations / large sandwiches - we all agreed it was a great 'find'! Prices very reasonable and service excellent. Good lattes / other coffees. A large choice of gorgeous deserts , but no room for those this day! Outdoor seating on a fine day under umbrellas if too hot.
