...but probably in need of a makeover pretty soon.

It's well located halfway between Nuriootpa and Angaston right next to Vintners Bar and Grill and the Barossa Farmers Market (open every Sat 7.30 - 11.30am)

Didn't get our promised 'deluxe king' room as the bed in the last available room was broken so we were downgraded to their next room category. No offer of anything as an apology.
The room itself wasn't too bad with comfy queen bed + single bed, great shower (strong), TV and toaster, kettle etc. Cars have undercover parking.

The negatives were...very loud aircon unit, crusty old bathroom with no basin (located outside the bathroom in the kitchenette area) and generally the fixtures and fittings were kind of old and tired.
Breakfast (toast, cereal and fruit juice) was basic to say the least.
Reception staff (the owners) were very nice and helpful as you'd expect from a rural motel.

For the price (a Living Social deal) it was hard to complain too bitterly and we enjoyed our getaway, but maybe the owners could spend a bit of time and money to upgrade/refurbish.

Probably wouldn't go back.

Difficult to find accommodation in the Valley for 1 night only at reasonable value and this is the exception. Very basic and noisy with the air conditioning needed with the current cold, Mattress sags so sleep can be difficult but with the value, you overlook these issues.
Good location for most planned activities.

Looks very 70s but its clean and the staff are friendly. Mattress was comfortable but we rolled into the middle so you want to be talking to your partner :-)
Didn't like having the washbasin next to the kitchen microwave but I guess that's a space issue.
The two heights in the bathroom only a couple of centremetres but because the toilet is behind the door it is easy to trip down the step or roll your Ankle on it. Something to be watched.

I stayed for one night with friends who took 2 other rooms. I stayed in a King room which was the nicest out of the 3. The room was quite large with a sofa and 2 arm chairs as well as a sink, fridge and microwave.

The décor is pretty old fashioned (purple and red carpet with pastel floral bedspread!) however the room was super clean and the bathroom although dated was clean and very functional too.

We had been to The Stampede which is a muddy obstacle course so we were hoping that the shower was a good one and it didn't disappoint - super water pressure and nice and hot which was definitely needed.

If you are looking for a budget option in the Barossa but something that is clean and comfortable then this is a very good option.

We arrived after the opening hours of the reception however the owner arrived with one call. The room we got for 100AUD per night and that was reasonable for what we got. A spacious, lovely room with a huge bed and tv. Like many travellers throughout Australia we drove with a rental car and it only takes few minutes into the centre of Angaston. Perfect base to discover the vineyards in Barossa valley.
