The owners of Robe House enjoy providing some a little special for those who are lucky enough to stay at this historic property. We only stayed one night which was not enough but if you want good accommodation with a romantic sense of the time of the first European settlers, this is the place for you. Modern facilities but Victorian style. Great we got it! A pleasure to visit.

Thanks Guys for your great review. As owners of an old building, it is so rewarding for us when our guests appreciate what we are trying to do. Back in the 1840's Robe really was a pioneering village, and it is that essence that we have tried to preserve at Robe House. Most of Robe's oldest buildings still remain, so it is a wonderful place to come and soak up the history.
We hope you are able to call in on us again!!
Best wishes
Andrew

...only had a one night stay in this delightful property, very tranquil, historical building with real atmosphere. Arrived out of hours but acquiring keys to the room couldn't have been easier, spotlessly clean, first rate provisions for breakfast and an owner and staff who obviously love the place. A real tonic after the over pretentious Barossa Valley, a bit different, relaxed with a great homely feel, free wi-fi is an added bonus. The town of Robe it's self is a lovely 'one street' seaside place, good quality eateries and take-aways, not a lot in the way of night life but a superb place to get away from it all. Recommended!!

Hi Andrew,
thanks for taking the time to review Robe House. Many of our guests wish that they could spend another night with us, as most don't arrive until late, and like yourselves have to push off early the next morning. Robe is a very pretty coastal town of around 1000 people, and we are very fortunate to have so many great places to eat out. It deserves a little extra attention if you can spare the time, as there are plenty of things to do here to keep you busy!!
As you pointed out it can be quiet at night, however the 2 pubs often provide entertainment on the weekends.
So glad you enjoyed your stay.
Best wishes
Andrew

We recently stayed here for one night as part of our trip from Melbourne to Adelaide. This is beautifully presented and furnished period style accommodation - some people may not be used to this and think it a bit 'different' but as English people we felt right at home. Clean and well equipped. Owners are low key and do not live at the premises - again, some people may not like this and expect a receptionist, but we also liked this - added to the laid back and relaxing feel of the place. Recommended!

Thanks for your review of Robe House. Many of our guests comment about Robe House being just like an old English home. This is probably due to the fact that Robe was settled in the 1840's largely by new Australian's or English men and women who in many cases replicated their old homes in England.
As hosts we are on call most hours of the day and night, however we do not live on site. You are quite right that this does not suit everyone's needs, however over the 16 or so years that we have been here, we believe that most guests are happy with the arrangement, and I appreciate you giving the method the thumbs up!!
Thanks again for your kind words.
Best regards,
Andrew

At the end of a long drive Robe House was a very welcome resting place. Little to do in Robe itself but it does have a certain charm. Our apartment at Robe House was well equipped and spotless and the owners charming and helpful. An added bonus - free wifi connection - larger establishments please note!

Robe House is 2 minutes from the beach front and the main street through Robe. There is very little in Robe apart from a few cafes and a rather nice art/crafts shop.

My room had a gorgeous wrought iron bed, a well stocked kitchen area and a bathroom. All very clean and comfortable. There was fresh bread in the fridge, butter, fruit, milk, sweets and hand made biscuits as well as breakfast cereals.

Check in is a bit strange, you call someone from a phone mounted in a box on the fence, but it works! the lady that visited when everyone checked in was very nice and made sure I was OK.

Nice to get away from the mass tourist room and stay in something more personal, lovely!

Hi Kate,
thanks for your kind review of Robe House. I am sorry that we were away when you stayed, and we did not get to meet you - even owners of B&B's need a holiday!! Robe is a delightful fishing village with lots of lovely walks and beaches to die for!! While the temperature of the water can be a little cold, the sand is pristine and beautiful to walk on. We also have a great range of cafe's and restaurants for a town of its size.
We do hope that you visit us again one day.
Kind regards,
Andrew

With only 4 rooms, we were so pleased to have booked this unique little place on the edge of town & near the Marina. On arrival we were greeted by our charming host who showed us all the faclities available. The old building has been tastefully adapted to provide en-suite facilities.
Having driven abt 200 KM of boring road from Adelaide, we were anxious to walk out & explore the marina, around the headland to the Obelisk & reconstructed gaol. Restaurants seemed to close quite early & we only just got served at the pub at 8.15pm!
There was loads provided for us to prepare our own breakfast next day. We enjoyed it sitting outside on the verandah admiring the garden.

Room Tip: Only 4 rooms to choose from. Ours was No 2 & great.

Dear HappyWalker09, thank you for your review of Robe House. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in Robe and with us. The drive from Adelaide can be a little tiresome especially in the hot summer months when everything is quite brown. You are quite right about the restaurants closing early - especially mid week. While Robe is a very popular tourist destination it is quite a small village of only 1000 odd people, so things tend to close early.
Thanks again, and we hope to see you again one day.
Best wishes,
Andrew
