“Dont bother, dont bother with Esperance”
Reviewed 15 March 2014 via mobile

The surrounds of Esperance are glorious but the town itself is a disappointment. The whole - all of it - beachfront area, including Tanker Jetty has been closed since Feb 2013 and shows no sign of being complete in the near future. You would think it would've been far more sensible to do it in sections, but this hasnt happened. As a result, the town frontage appears disconnected and fractured. We enjoy bike/ walk paths (think Busselton, Dongara for instance), but apart from a very short bike to Castletown, and the admittedly glorious 40km Grand Ocean bike trail we did today, there is not much else. Went to the visitor centre this morning, Sat, just after 9am and along with everyone else queued to talk to the one woman on the desk, and was rold no tours were operating, in short, nothing was available. If Esperance really does fancy itself as a tourist town, with an info centre to match, it possibly needs to take a good look at how the two aforementioned places present themselves, and possibly have a critical look at their town planner or whoever it was who decided to decimate the town foreshore and shut the tanker jetty for over a year.

Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear you were disappointed to find the foreshore closed during your visit to Esperance. Progress updates on the Esperance Waterfront Project are available on the Shire of Esperance website (unfortunately Tripadvisor won't let us post the link, but if you Google Shire of Esperance waterfront it will come up.

Near the town centre and museum. Handy for picking up leaflets and booking tours. Petrol station opposite. Good parking.

“Good - but now not more”

You get help and some information. Not many postcards and not a lot of information. Just average. But there were LOTS of people, maybe thats why…
