“Another must see in Hyden”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

We went to Hippo's yawn after the Wave rock. Again a must to see, it is only a few minutes walk, or drive from Wave Rock. It is incredible how it was formed and yes it looks like a hippo's mouth when you see it for yourself too.!

“Just a short walk from the wave”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

Hippo's Yawn is only a short distance from Wave Rock along an easy path. On that basis I wouldn't miss it. Worth a photo or three!

“Easy pleasant walk to or from Wave Rock”
Reviewed 17 October 2013 via mobile

If you go to Wave Rock you may as well visit Hippo's Yawn as it's a pleasant 1km walk from or to Wave Rock. Even better, take the walk on a tour with the Rock Warden who will describe the wildflowers and other plants, and tell the story of the area.

“Walk to Hippo's Yawn”
Reviewed 16 October 2013

An easy walk to the site. You can walk the 1km distance from the park or drive if you have problems walking the distance. Not that spectacular though. Lots of midgies. :(

“Good for a quick look and climb”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

Climb through the throat of the hippo and you can climb to the top too but just need to be careful up to. Can walk to and from Wave Rock (free parking here unlike at Wave Rock)
