We stayed at Laurelville with another couple and had such a wonderful relaxing weekend. Mmm where to begin.
Our room was just beautiful with the finest of furnishings and crisp white linen to die for. The bed was extremely comfortable with a choice of pillows. On our bed was a tray with some books and yummy chocolates. The room has tea and coffee facilities with a choice of teas and leaf tea for the tea pot. The room also has a fridge handy for a bottle of wine for a drink in the afternoon on the veranda.
In the bathroom it had heated towel racks with bath robes and slippers, and the thickest softest white towels I have ever seen. In the drawer there was a hairdryer, straightening irons and every sort of bathroom accessory you would need, toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, moisturiser, shampoo and conditioner and even manicure set all packaged beautifully. I couldn't get over how clean the room and bathroom was.
We sat on the veranda all afternoon and sipped wine and I had pre-ordered a cheese platter which was heaven with the finest of cheese, olives, chorizo etc. The football was on so our men stepped into the parlour and played snooker and pool whilst watching the Eagles play. Sandra had baked a beautiful moist orange cake with fresh cream, the smell of a cake cooking was divine and it was so scrumptious we had to have seconds.
We walked into town for dinner which well wasn't the best at the Imperial Hotel. Their website looks great and it is a lovely "Subi Style" place but the food and the service lacked a lot. I will review that separately.
Breakfast started with a help yourself to a continental style with cereals, muesli and yoghurt rhubarb compote and beautifully prepared fresh fruits and juices. Sandra and Phil serve tea and coffee to your table. We chose to sit on the veranda overlooking the gardens.
A cooked breakfast followed which consisted of perfect poached eggs, bacon, beans, tomato, toast and mushrooms. We sat for hours chatting and enjoying the company and the surroundings. No need for lunch we were full from breakfast.
I recommend this place to everyone wanting a relaxing luxurious rest, The hosts Sandra and Phil were simply perfect.
