This park is awesome. We went for the playground and got much more. First off there is an electric train that goes around the playground. .50 cents per rider. It’s really cool. The playground itself is great. Honoring the military throughput. Railway themed. Learning areas throughout. Shaded spots, picnic tables , water fountains. Track around the playground for walking. There is a community pool and next to the playground is a carousel 50cents a rider. Restrooms available too. This community really takes pride in this park. Great place to visit. Can’t wait to go back.

They have remodeled the rides and it is a very nice place now. The place has rides for babies and toddlers. Slides, swings and a train. The area is covered over swings.

It was just a normal park with slides swings and stuff. It does have a carousel and tiny train but if you dont have small children not worth it.

Two grand examples of vintage amusement rides are found at the Shelby City Park – the circa 1919 carousel built by the Hershell Spillman Company of North Tonawanda, NY, and the 1952 train built by the Miniature Train Company. Purchased by the City of Shelby in 1952, the merry-go-round features 32 “jumpers.” Twenty-nine of the brightly-painted, hand-carved horses are original and three are replacements. A total restoration of the carousel was completed in 1998, which included a rebuilding of the mechanism, repairing and repainting the horses and decorative rounding boards, the purchase of an authentic Band Organ, and the construction of the handsome Anne Dover Bailey Pavilion. Soon after the city purchased the carousel, the Rotary Club bought the miniature train, an award-winning, scaled-down replica of a real F3 Diesel Streamliner, displaying the characteristic sleek lines of the originals. Like the carousel, the train underwent a restoration in 2002, and a “depot” was added. A nominal fee is charged per person for rides on the train and the carousel. The rides operate on a seasonal schedule.

The kiddies will love the carousel and train. Good for cookouts and catching a game at the baseball field
