We were pleasantly surprised, we ordered several things and all were delicious. Fried and broiled items are available but the fried ones are breaded just enough not to forget that famous soup yam!

Made the trip from wilmington the eat here - well worth the drive!! After a sample of the chowder, I had to have more - amazing! Was surprised by the calabash-style shrimp and grits - perfectly fried large shrimp atop creamy grits. And a spicy, roux-based sauce. I was stuffed, but I managed to down the cheesecake with strawberry sauce. Can't wait to return during warmer weather so we can enjoy the open air and view!

This cute restaurant is directly on the water in charming Southport. The food was good, but unexceptional, at least for lunch. The building is new and has a nice open feel, but I did question our waiter about the absence of outdoor dining. It would seem a natural in such a location. And given a choice, I will always prefer to eat outside on a nice day. That aside, it was fine for lunch. Not sure if I'll go back?

We had a just perfect dinner at Frying Pan. Freshly decorated for the holidays, the atmosphere was festive and beachy elegant.
The service was the best ever. When preparing to leave, we asked for a take home box for our leftover crab. The next day I opened a beautifully presented lunch complete with fresh tartar sauce. Who does that? The Frying Pan...fabulous
