We had 3 nights at the Richmond Inn. The town itself doesn't have much charm but this B& B does. From Spruce Pine we visited the Blue Ridge Parkway north and south. Went to Blowing Rock and Linville Falls. Very comfortable accomodations. Very clean. Well maintained.

The house was in a lovely setting and was very comfortable. The owner, whose name is Maggie, was easy to talk to and we felt right at home. She was very helpful with information about local attractions and went out of her way to see we had everything we needed. The bathrooms were large, as were the rooms. Beds were comfy too. Will stay here again when we come back to the North Carolina mountains

This was our 3rd time staying at Maggie's(the owner) charming bed and breakfast. Each time has been consistently quite, comfortable and clean. You will feel at home from the moment you walk thru the door. The daily breakfast is delicious and filling. The mountain location is convenient to I-40 and the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as the many area mountain adventures; Grandfather/Sugar/Beech mountain's, Linville Falls, Penland School of Crafts, Mt Mitchell, etc... The inn is also walking distance to the quaint town of Spruce Pine where you will find antique shops, galleries, shopping and restaurants. It is also pet and kid friendly. They will love your well behaved pet as much as you do. We have taken our 80+lbs lap dog boxer several times. Overall, our stay was wonderful and we are sure to return soon.

We arrived just before a rain shower to a welcoming home with a cool room. Our host, Maggie, was gracious offering goodies from the butler's pantry. The breakfast the following morning received rave reviews from her guests and it was lovely visiting with the other folks at the table. Our stay was perfect and we will continue to recommend The Richomd Inn to our friends.

Room Tip: We recommend the Derbyshire Room...cool and quiet!

Inn was not a all what their web site represented. We were not given the room we booked- Mt. View. Our room was dark and shabby- wall to wall old furniture- we think it was a spare room. Small 15" tv, refrigerator sitting on the floor, no soap in shower. Could not recommend it.

We stayed at the Richmond Inn B and B during the Roan Mountain Rhododendron Festival in June. This was an anniversary trip for 3 couples and some ancestry hunting for me. The Inn has spacious comfortable bedrooms and common areas and delightful Maggie, the owner, serves up a good breakfast and any directions you need. Spruce Pine is minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Penland Craft School. An annual Gem and Mineral Festival takes place there and numerous craft studios are nearby. Coming home to the Richmond Inn after a day in the mountains is great. Add on dinner at the Mountain View Restaurant for one of the most beautiful dining views you'll ever have!
