“Great spot for a Labor Day weekend”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

First of all, the drive to Moonshine Creek Campground is awe-inspiring. We drove through Tennessee and was astounded by the height of the mountains. Just incredible. Moonshine Creek Campground is probably the best run (and the cleanest) campground we have stayed in. The camp staff members are super helpful, courteous, and hard-working (they drive around the campground in golf carts and empty the garbage cans several times a day). The creek that runs down the center of the campground is absolutely gorgeous and makes the most beautiful sound as it flows over the rocks. (The only semi *negative* thing I can say about Moonshine Creek campground is that the RV sites are smaller than we were used to.)

Owners and camp staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. Lovely campground tucked away in the NC mountains. Plenty to do in the area for everyone in the family. Close to the Great Smokies. Not far from Cherokee. We'll be back.

We spent one night here on a quick end-of-summer camping trip. The grounds were beautiful, and we know because we had fun exploring the whole campground. The creek is beautiful and creates a perfect backdrop for a peaceful nights rest. The staff were all very attentive and genuinely cared about our stay. Even though the bathhouse facility was older, it was very clean and the staff made sure it stayed that way. Just a note to tent campers, bring your own grill as the fire rings do not have anything to cook on. Though the store on site sells them.

We stayed in a tent here in late July. (We had the 'overlook' tent spot.) The tent sites are roomy, level and there is power and running water at each site. There is a bath house where you may take hot showers or do your laundry. The staff was friendly and helpful. The creek runs by every tent spot and creates a wonderful atmosphere. We are definitely staying here again if we are ever in the area.

The only thing I notice was the bathrooms are very old could use some update but overall is a nice place in the heart of mountains

My husband and I take our three children to Moonshine Creek campground every year. We simply just love it. One year we actually decided not to go to moonshine and to go to a different campground in Georgia, well after only one night there we decided it wasn't what we wanted. Therefore we cancelled our stay there and continued on to NC to finish up our vacation at this campground. The people that run the office are always so nice and the restrooms are always kept very clean. My family and I live in Florida so getting to get away every year and go to the mountains, where the temperature is great, is such a blessing.

We stayed at Moonshine Creek campground for a week in May. This was our first visit to this campground and found it to be a hidden gem. The campground was very clean and well kept. Our site backed up to the creek and we enjoyed listening to the creek, especially in the evening. The staff was very helpful, even providing us with directions to some wonderful hiking trails. The campground served as our base camp for the week as we visited the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smokey Mountain National Park. The parkway is just 5 minutes from the campground making it very convenient. I would definitely visit Moonshine Creek campground again.
