I stopped at The Meeting Place at the recommendation from the Washington Visitor's Center. As it was Sunday, the restaurant was only serving brunch and the other menu items were not available. Given my timing, I arrived after a large group coming from church so it took awhile to receive my food. However the waitress was friendly and continued to fill my iced tea.
While the food was good, it was not necessarily worth the long wait. That aside, the food was still very good and it is definitely worth considering eating at the restaurant. They are only opened for limited hours, so make sure you get there early as they are closed by 1500. The restaurant is fairly large, so there should be plenty of space. If you happen to be from the local area or come to Washington, NC frequently, the restaurant offers a loyalty program that offers a free meal after the purchase of seven (?). The restaurant is also located along the historic walking tour, so it is a convenient stop.
The men's bathroom is unique, as there is one urinal and one toilet stall. There is no door to the toilet stall, so if someone was to walk in they would stare right at you!
