Great place to stay if traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway (There are only 2) or want to hike one of the trails in the surrounding area. Every room has an outstanding mountain view, the people who work here are professional and friendly and the restaurant food is good. The rooms are not cheap but are a reasonable value considering the location and views.

I would also recommend the ribs at the restaurant. Probably the best I have ever had. Meaty and so tender the meat fell off the bone.

Room Tip: There are 3 sections of rooms. We prefer Treetops section which has been recently renovated.

Where else can you get the view, good food, trails, leaves changing and pay less than $200 a night. This is the place/ The staff is accommodating and the animals are everywhere.
Enjoy the North Carolina mountains. A short drive into Asheville.

This is the 4th year my husband and I have come to the Pisgah Inn, which is immediately off the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC... and it's the 2nd year we have brought family with us. Why do we keep coming back? First and foremost, the views are the best we have encountered from any hotel in the mountains. With nothing obstructing your view of the Pisgah National Forest, you can be assured of amazing sunrises and sunsets, from any room in the three buildings (regardless of what floor you are on). Second, the hotel is clean, well-serviced, and cared for; the beds and rooms are comfortable and all have a decent sized balcony overlooking the mountain range. Third, the service is exemplary, whether you need help from housekeeping, the front office staff, or the folks in the gift shop and the restaurant. Fourth, the location is great, with hiking right outside the hotel and many scenic vistas (including waterfalls) just a short drive away on the Blue Ridge Parkway. And last but not least, we love the restaurant. Whether you are craving a nice steak or seafood, a burger, or some great homestyle cooking (such as chicken pot pie or meatloaf), the restaurant staff aims to please. The restaurant is open for three meals a day, and though you may encounter a wait (no reservations accepted), it typically is not very long. For these and many other reasons, we plan to return to Pisgah Inn every year as long as we can and to bring more of our family with us each time we return.

Room Tip: All rooms have an excellent view. We prefer rooms further from the main office, which are quieter.

This past August, we spent several wonderful days at the Pisgah Inn. We enjoyed it so much, we immediately planned another stay this fall and booked rooms for the last days of October. You can't imagine our dismay when we heard that it was closed down by the park service, and then our jubilation at them reopening! This is just a little slice of heaven. It has cozy wonderful rooms with great views. Especially in the morning with the sunrise over the mountains. The little gift shop is great too. We spent quite a lot of time there, and money too. But the restaurant is definitely one of the best surprises. We ate there almost every night, and definitely every morning. The menu was fantastic, with many different choices. Truly something for everyone. One night we tried the pork chops, and they were simply fantastic. As you can imagine, we are thrilled to be going back and think this will be a regular stop in our travels. Can't answer to question about children and the fitness is what you make it. Plenty of trails and beautiful sites to see, you just have to be motivated enough to walk on a incline. If you are having second thoughts about booking here, don't. You will enjoy the views, the ambiance and the the staff, that is a certainty.

Room Tip: All rooms are good!

If you are driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville, this is a great place to stop for lunch. We arrived and were told we could be seated immediately or wait a bit for a window seat. We waited for a window seat, but actually the view is good from anywhere in the dining room.

As we were waiting we enjoyed browsing through the gift shop, and also visiting the deck which overlooks the mountains. This is a beautiful place!

There was a special for lunch: crab cakes. They were superb! So, if they have it on special and you like crab, don't miss it!

Our waitress was friendly, yet non-intrusive and the service was excellent.

I enjoyed seeing all of the creative and pretty quilts (some traditional and some very unusual) hanging up in the dining room. They were for sale, and if I had a place to put one, I would have been very tempted to buy one.

Room Tip: We only ate at the restaurant, would love to stay here in the future.

I live in Asheville and always wanted to stay the night at Pisgah Inn. Well finally got to do it and I am so pleased we did. I am also ashamed I had not tried sooner. It is less than an hour from home but feels like a million miles away. The view is completely uninterrupted from the rooms - and it looks like it has for millions of years - you do not see any developments or cars - just pure mountains. We stayed in the Treetops building which has been refurbished and updated. Comfortable beds and very clean. The wooden rockers on the balcony were brand new and clean. Only thing I saw in the other rooms that I wish our room had was a small table and chairs inside so you could sit and watch the view. I think the older rooms have that so it is a trade off. The room included a hardy breakfast in the dining room that is cooked to order with homemade biscuits.

Room Tip: Treetop building has been renovated. Unless you like to carry your luggage upstairs, the view from...

I live in Asheville and go up to the Pisgah Inn all the time and love dining in the restaurant and staying in the Inn sometimes just to get away and get that mountain feeling. I felt I had to qualify the review that is from the people who reviewed today, October 4 who hated the place and felt they were treated rudely. Please cut the owners, management and staff a little slack. They were ordered by the government to close down due to the "shut down" and they had just a few days to get everyone out and cancel all reservations at what it usually a peak time of year when these private mom and pop places in the mountains make all there money for the year. Go easy. People are out of work and places are facing losing their businesses. And while the Inn is practically like camping out there is a great charm to staying here. I love this place.
