If you know what to expect before you go you won't be disappointed. Expect to have an EXCELLENT view from any room and friendly staff. Also expect your room will be clean but dated, worn and weathered.

We are sorry to hear that your room did meet your expectations. We are updating the rooms each winter and we will finish the winter of 2017/2018....we hope you will come back to see the results!

It’s kind of interesting, that some of the bad comments, are often because folks get grumpy because the weather isn’t pristine. Seriously?

That being said, they have a very fair cancellation policy, And so, if the weather looks bad four days before your arrival, go ahead and cancel and don’t whine about the fog or the lack of “ new movies “ , or the waiter not bringing your coffee promptly.?

This is not the Grove Park Inn, and if you think about the logistics of getting everything up and down ( fresh food, employees, etc) You really should not expect that much, it is all about the view, and hiking, I get it if you’re too old to hike

We found the staffing exceptionally excellent for what we expected for a motel that is 45 minutes from a town!

We appreciate your feedback and do think our cancellation policy is fair. We do, however, hope to exceed all expectations and we will continue to meet these goals!

We have been coming to this inn on a ridge since 1975. We have never been disappointed in our stays. The views are great, restaurant food is excellent, staff is friendly and helpful, and location is well positioned for visiting nearby towns and BRP venues. We return home refreshed and renewed. The owner is updating/renovating some aspects over every winter with the most recent being the observation deck next to the restaurant and furniture/flooring upgrades to one building. We always want to return and have to book 1 year and a day to get the room we want. This inconvenience is worth it. We highly recommend Pisgah Inn for fall foliage trips to NC BRP.

My husband and I are long-time devotees to the Pisgah Inn- in fact, we've funneled about 90% of our vacation budget into this place over the last five or six years. As a travel writer, I have published articles on the Inn in the past, promoting it out of a genuine love for its beauty and individuality.

We've been noticing changes over time and this past visit in particular has made us hesitant to reserve again for the spring and for fall 2018 as we would normally do. Our check-in experience was unpleasant- the attendant was crisp and arrogant, treating us as through were street ruffians for arriving a little before the usual check-in time. Then our bill was a huge surprise (literally); there was a 115 dollar difference between what we'd expected to pay and what we did pay. When I called for help understanding this bill, I was given a mix of explanations from another curt employee- taxes, a cancellation fee for a third night (which I cancelled many months ago!), a change in rates. These details should be itemized on the emailed reminder so that guests know exactly what they are paying and why. This has never happened before and it hurt us. We are not wealthy and we plan our Pisgah trips with great care.

We stayed down in Maggie Valley the following weekend at a low-rate motel where we enjoyed better accommodations, a warm staff, and clear and honest billing practices. We should be able to expect these same things from an inn that charges 200 dollars a night while providing only the bare-bones in-room amenities. We love Pisgah beyond description, but we're nervous now about coming back, and saddened that it's lost a bit of its magic.

We are sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations, from your check in experience to the billing. Rates do go up in October and since most guests make October reservations a year in advance, we must collect the difference.
We appreciate all honest feedback and we will learn from this and continue to strive for excellence.

We try to stay at Pisgah Inn every year or two but this year waited too long for reservations. We did go up for the beautiful views and dinner. We had the best meal we have ever had this time! Great food and service! Had a wonderful time! Thank you!
