This little drive in, still with curb service, has been in business for over 60 years and in the same location (as the server told us). They serve breakfast and lunch and close around 5 or 6pm. i love a good chilli cheesebruger and a good hot dog with homemade chili... nothing from a can. Well they do make their own chilli and the server said they have made it the same way for years. If you order a cheeseburger, it's comes with mustard, chilli and onions. So I had the cheeseburger, fries and can pepsi ($5.00) and I was not disappointed with the burger. It was a little dryer that I would have liked (they mash the burgers while cooking which would be a fireing offense if I had a burger joint) but the addition of the chilli helped that. It was very good.... the fries were basic fries and were ok. My lunch partner ordered the pinto beans, onions and cornbread which were excellent. Oh... a sign tells you that on Wednesday they have $1 hotdogs. I want to go back and try the breadfast. Seems to be a good southern breakfast wtih biscuits and gravy as a choice on the menu. The one server was very friendly and provided fast service. They have a sandwich bar seating area and a few booths, so a very small place. It was full of locals who all seemed to know each other. Love this little place in Hazelwood. Oh.... and they serve Townhouse fried pies that they will heat up for you. Yum... try the pineapple one.
