“RV & Tent sites + Apartments + Rustic Cabins”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

Lake Junaluska Campground is an ideal place for family camping. The sites are level and large enough to accommodate 45 foot motor homes with plenty of room to park your vehicle as well. We were pleased to find out that the campground has a cabin and apartments with fully equipped kitchens as well as rustic cabins and tent sites. We had family visit and they were able to have their own space in one of the apartments even though they did not have an RV. It would be a perfect place for a family/friends reunion. The volunteer staff was most helpful and went out of their way to make out stay pleasant. This will be our campground of choice any time we are in the Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Cherokee or Ashville area. Your day trip choices are almost endless. We were there in September and the host invited us to pick apples from several trees in the campground. I made applesauce and it was great.

Our local friend got us a place in this park while we traveled the local area for a place to spend the summer in cooler weather. We looked at every campground withing 50 miles and looked at each other and both agreed not a single one was any better than Lake Junaluska Campground. We extended our stay and are coming back for a week in October and planning to stay for several months next summer. As stated by previous reviewers, you cant beat the courtesy of the staff and the facilities easily handle this relatively smaller park. Cant come near beating the rates anywhere around. Only down side for us was it took a while to get ahold of reservations by phone!

It is the staff that makes the Campground so great!! You will never be disappointed in the way the staff responds to you needs or questions. They are full of advice and helpful information on where to go and what to do in the area. If you looking for a quite place for reflection and meditation, a challenging round of golf, want to know where the best trout fishing is or where you can get breakfast, they can help you. They have maps and directions to most all the sites you might want to visit in the area. Do not hesitate asking their help.

Room Tip: All sites are full hook up and the meadow sites all have cable TV.

Great Staff, all volunteers. They have full hookups and most have cable TV. Lots of shady spots for smaller unit. Plenty of room for big rigs.
Best rates in the area.
Located close to all Western North Carolina, Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Asheville.
A great spot to anchor to see the fall colors or enjoy the trout streams and the lake.

Room Tip: They have apartments and rustic cabins.

Hubby & I came here last year in our 42' motorhome. We loved it so much that we came again this year for a month. Best price RV campground around. Full hook ups, including cable tv & wi-fi. We ride our bikes around Lake Junaluska across the street. Campground is staffed by very nice volunteers who also RV. We also love the gift/coffee shop at Lake Junaluska. Small laundromat at campground is convenient. A little daytime road noise but very quiet in the evening & worth it for the location. Oh, we rode bikes into Wayesville via Waynesville Greenway. We purhcased LJ fitness center membership this time. Very high quality equipment. So much to do!
