“It was really fun to stay here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2010

If you love hiking and the mountains, this is the perfect spot. The National Park trails are right next to the inn, plus nature trails on site, so you can have a day of hiking and enjoy wonderful meals and a beautiful setting at 5000 feet high. It is very unique. The atmosphere is laid back, staff was great and the Chef was great - we really enjoyed the food. They thought of everything to make the stay enjoyable.

The innkeepers, Dan and Deener, and their entire staff are absolutely unbelievable. They are welcoming and make you feel like part of their family. The accommodations are superb, the views magnificent, and the food simply outstanding.

Fantastic retreat for those who enjoy the scenic beauty of North Carolina's mountains, rustic surroundings combined with modern amenities, excellent food and the true essence of southern hospitality and service. If you are looking for peace, tranquility and nature along with the comfortable accomodations and superb food this is your place. If instead one is looking for excitment, different restaurants, shopping and night clubs stay away. Also remember if you go the Swag is located in a dry county so bring your own wine and other alcohol beverages.

In all of my travels this is one that will be in the forefront of my memory. The Swag will truly meet every need you have. The Sunday Brunch was exceptional! The accommodations were fabulous as we stayed in the Family Room cuddled in front of the wood fireplace after using the copper soaker tub. We cannot wait to return.

We have been loving The Swag since 1996! We've been back probably 20 times because the rooms are beautiful, the views are fantastic, the hiking can't be beat, the food is incredible, and the staff is superb.

Food, service, decor and quality of employees made this a fantastic getaway. Understated elegance in the Smokies and hiking RIGHT IN THE BACKYARD of Swag in the Smoky Mountain National Park was spectacular. We'll return again and again!
