“My Favorite B&B”

Our second visit was as nice as our first. We have started a tradition to visit The Yellow House for our anniversary and cannot say enough about this wonderful B&B. We stay in the Carriage House room and it is HUGE! The most comfortable bed, linens to die for, and the largest whirlpool tub I have ever seen. Breakfasts are amazing and the homemade cookies in the afternoon are always a welcome treat. Shawn and his staff do everything imaginable to make your stay fabulous! I can't wait to return next year. Thank you Shawn and Connie for all you do.

Room Tip: The Carriage House is fabulous. If you prefer a more secluded room, the Benitatxell Suite is very n...

We had the pleasure of spending our honeymoon here and it was a wonderful experience. The innkeeper, Shawn, and his staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a very pleasant stay.

From the delightful gourmet breakfast, home-baked cookies to happy hour wine and cheese trays. Coffee, teas, fruits and snacks were on tap all day, as was Port in the evenings. He was always there to anticipate our needs, whether it was an umbrella, walking stick or directions to an attraction. We stayed at the Sconset suite in the main house. It was cozy, spacious and well appointed. We loved the fireplace, big comfortable bed and hot tub.

The grounds were idyllic. We often went to find little seating areas; swings, benches to admire the lakes, waterfalls and the enchanting views of the surroundings. Can't wait to go back with family and friends!

Room Tip: each room has its own charm. the sconset was near the living and dining rooms

We were lucky enough to have spent the last several days at our most favorite B & B - The Yellow House! Shawn provides the perfect environment - great conversation, fabulous hospitality and the most delicious breakfasts you could imagine! Our suite is such a perfect combination of charm and beauty - we love the fireplace and the huge king 4-post bed! (called the s'conset) - it is on the first floor in the Main house and we love the location! There are so many activities to do in the area - you can do as much or as little as you wish to, but be rest assured, when your day is done, you will be happy to be coming "home" to the Yellow House to relax!..... the wine is waiting!

Room Tip: Each room has different charm - look at the website (the pics are very accurate and decide what suit...

My wife and I met with two cousins and their spouses for a fantastic couple of days at the Yellow House. We stayed in the Carriage Suite which is luxuriously appointed. Shawn is the best innkeeper we have ever met. He not only is a wealth of information about the area, he serves some of the best breakfast foods ever! The grounds at the Yellow House are beautiful with numerous sitting areas to enjoy the two ponds and waterfalls. This was our first but will not be our last visit to the Yellow House.

My husband and I love B & B's and came upon the Yellow House by chance and what a fortuitous day it was ! The rooms are just lovely especially the Windwardside Suite and the Carriage House Suite. And to top it all off, Shawn, the caretaker, provides the best food including hor d'ourves in the afternoon and a scrumptious hot breakfast served in your room if you choose. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spotless and charming.
We have returned many times to enjoy the riding in the area ( the Blue Ridge Parkway is just moments away) and to just plain relax. Be aware though, there are no TV's in the rooms but one is available in the main house. Wireless internet is also available.

Room Tip: Rooms are quieter and larger in the Carriage House than the main house. There is a more isolated ar...

We decided to get out of town for a weekend at The Yellow House and had the most wonderful time. Everything was carefully thought out to make our stay easy and tranquil. The food is INCREDIBLE- Shawn is not only a wonderful Innkeeper but a fabulous cook. Little touches like daily fresh baked cookies make it feel cozy and homey and we loved the soft music that plays throughout the house continuously. The property is beautifully kept and just charming. This is the perfect place for a few days to escape the real world. Be sure to ask for the baked grapefruit! The Carriage Room is divine.

The Yellow House is beautiful inside and outside. The rooms are charming and very comfortable.
I loved my great big bed, the fireplace, the comfy sofa and the warm soft robe. The food is delicious! For instance, the mouth watering Quiche, the Peach baked french toast(made with croissants) and many other so yummy things to eat. Innkeeper Shawn is the perfect host. Everyone feels like an honored guest at the Yellow House

Room Tip: We had the Carriage House room. This is elegant. There is a fireplace, A comfortable sofa if I just...
