We would give this place a score from 0-10 a great 100% #10!!!! Everything was beautiful and peaceful and listening to the waterfall out your back door puts you in heaven. Shawn and his staff was the most dealightful group of people we have ever had the pleasure to meet. This trip was everything that we wanted and could ever image and when it was time to leave we wanted to stay. We have stayed at several bed and breakfast before but this one is #1 on our list now. We will definetely be going back. GREAT JOB!!! GIVE YOURSELVES A HAND YOU ALL DESERVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a wonderful place to stay with fabulous breakfasts, snacks and pure beauty. The owners are lucky to have Shawn as manager because he's just as enthusiastic about managing it as the guests are enjoying it! Great location for hiking parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Shawn, the innkeeper, went out of his way to make you feel welcome, comfortable and special! Upon our arrival Shawn showed us our double rooms which were very nicely appointed with period antiques as well as the latest amenities....stocked refrigerator, hair blower, books/magazines, bathrobes and a balcony overlooking the beautiful front grounds (mountains in the distance) complete with a chaise lounge, rocking chair and bistro table/chairs....a most enjoyable place to relax! After seeing our rooms we were showed around the grounds, taken back to the main house where Shawn pointed out places to find port, cookies and snacks to enjoy during the day, reading areas filled with lots of books, and an area for internet connections...if we needed. He also informed us that at 5:30 hors d'oeuvres and wine would be served in the parlour and then gave us a short history of the house. Before going back to our room to unpack he asked if we'd like our breakfast in the dining room or on the balcony and what time we'd like it served. Since we were celebrating our 45th. anniversary we chose the balcony. We were told Connie and Marie would bring it up at the chosen time and they'd call first to see what juice, and coffee/tea we would like. This welcome and the wonderful, cheerful personalities of Shawn, Connie and Marie made our visit special!

Thanks Shawn, Connie and Marie for your wonderful hospitality. We're looking forward to our next visit.

Ron and Beverly Miller...Charlotte, NC

P.S. Shawn recommended Lomo Grille for our anniversary dinner...an Excellent choice!

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Yellow House Inn. The accomodations were fabulous. The Innkeeper was super. He wanted to make sure his guests were able to enjoy the house and grounds and RELAX. We couldnt have had a better time. Breakfast was served when we were ready.. either in the dining room or on the veranda. He was willing to assist in dinner reservations, provide information of the area, southern hospitality at its finest.

We will be making plans for future visits.

The innkeeper was very hospitable and the food was terrific. The rooms and sitting areas are well decorated and cozy. Great attention to detail, such as soft music and a blazing fire awaiting us as we entered our room. We were only there one night, but this place was so relaxing that we felt as though we had been there for several days. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and look forward to visiting there again soon!

This was our 4th visit to "The Yellow House". We continue to be in all of the charm the staff and this property has to offer. On our arrival, we expected as always to have Susan greet us, but this time it was Shawn. We were a little reluctant of her temporary replacement at first, but I have to tell you, he was a pleasure! Not sure if it was the delectable breakfast of ham and spinach quiche or the peach stuffed French toast the 2nd morning. It possibly could have been the heavenly picnic basket he and Angie packed for us. It was a real basket with lovely china, a book of love poems and a huge quilt. We chose to picnic on the Blue Ridge parkway, but could have easily relaxed in many places on this lovely property. Everything is alway perfect at The Yellow House and if someone is disappointed with their stay, then they would be impossible to satisfy. Keep up the good work Shawn, Angie and Connie.....Susan has left the best to fill her shoes. See you again real soon.

My husband and I have stayed at the Yellow House several times. In fact, we have decided it is our favorite B&B. We enjoy taking trips to get away, and always feel relaxed after a visit to this special place. Susan, Shawn and the staff make you feel at home. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed, and the overall atmosphere is a romantic getaway.

During each visit we have enjoyed having breakfast in our room. We have stayed in the Carriage House and The Estainge. Both rooms are gorgeous but our favorite is the Estainge suite due to the separate sitting area (a good option if your partner is an early riser or likes to read late) and the covered veranda. The outside sitting area on the veranda has a picturesque view of the mountains. It is a delightful spot to have breakfast and catch up on some reading to start your day. Our most recent trip was to celebrate our anniversary.

Although you may find it hard to leave the room, if you do venture out there is plenty to do in the area, whether you take in a day trip for sightseeing or visit local artists or gift shops.

In summary, we have enjoyed each of our visits to the Yellow House immensely and will be sure to return again.
